It's like we've seen this issue before. *cough* hummer *ahem*

omg my best friend drives around in a hummer around town it's got huge rims and tires and i'm asking her "how are you driving that thing around town, you're driving essentially a tank." she says how it's like easy to control and easy to park. bitch please, you don't know nothing about a 6000 pound hummer.

Sadly though the Hummers weren't exactly (at least until H3, that's when they really were) made to be luxury vehicles. Especially the H1s. They're overpriced as hell though.

Hummers aren't hard to control or park?

If you can find one that doesn't have 300k miles on it

well i'm pretty sure they can run for a million miles they're super durable.

But you wanted to add power to a tired motor.

you could just rebuild it. i doubt a rebuild for a 4 cylinder truck motor will be much.

I know you guys were talking about Chrysler/dodge/jeep so I'll leave this here:

My friends' 2014 RAM that he recently traded in for a mustang was honestly a pretty terrible truck. Yes it was more powerful than all the other small (not small but considered small these days lol) trucks and was actually not a bad driving experience.

From day one he had tons of defects that he was yelling at the dealer to fix but they kept putting it off. Little things like trim pieces coming apart, things peeling, the build quality was TERRIBLE. The inside felt quite cheap as well, nothing rattled but it was just so plasticy, certainly not $30K+ worth of quality.

But anyway when he was on his way to Georgia to trade in the truck for the mustang, the transmission started slipping a lot and shifting extremely hard, jerking the truck. This thing had 15K miles lol!! The 8 speed transmission was already failing lol.

So yeah... I don't really trust anything new Chrysler makes. Plus they had that whole hacking incident...

Didn't they buy back a bunch of those trucks because they were awful? I haven't seen a Ram truck newer than 07 personally. Transmission issue was likely a sensor or solenoid. Rarely the transmission goes bad unless they've driven without maintenance or with the bad sensor or solenoid enough to cause it to damage internals.

Yeah, more referring to the H2 and H3. I actually like the H2 more, with it actually being based on a decent platform rather than the H3 just being a glorified Colorado (however as a result, some H3s came in a 5-speed manual).

but the H2 got DISMAL gas mileage, mostly because it was 6600 pounds and it's got a thirsty 6.2 v8 to propel that hunk.

That 6.2 is a freaking awesome motor though. The brand new tundra is 5600 pounds. There's not much that is overly great about those hummers. The H1 could do some work though.

Newer Tundras don't get that great mileage from what I've heard.

But yeah. You're better off getting a used tahoe or something over a hummer. Especially since in about 5 years or so the parts are gonna get hard to find and spendy.

Then again, it's huge.

You don't know awful gas mileage compared to the size of the vehicle, until you own one of these.

My grandparents have one, and in real-world usage, it's not that much better on gas than an H2. Good thing they only drive like once every two weeks to the supermarket.

True, but the H3 had a bitchin off road system.

That's cause of the engine, not the weight.

that's what I was thinking but man... 15K miles. That's a short sensor life lol

That's cause of the engine, not the weight.

but that engine's gonna have to rev harder in order to propel that weight the same distance as a compact car, so it uses more fuel.

Agreed. Escalade had the same motor and was 15 city 22 hwy h3 was 14 city 18 hwy

and i'm pretty confident the h2 had 9 city 12 highway according to one estimate.

They aren't THAT bad. I get 19 - 20 mixed milage(mostly highway). Hopefully my highway milage goes up with bigger tires. (right now it flutters at 2k doing 60. Hoping for just humming at 1600 or 1700 with 225/70

I used theirs just to go to school and back for two weeks while they were on vacation, and got around 12-13 mpg.

I've seen some people see things for their cars that save like 1 or 2 mpg and they are like that much for sooo little?!

You have to keep in mind... 1 or 2 mpg when your car only makes 12 is 8-16% lol

Ford had issues on 6.7l powerstrokes with nox sensors being faulty off the line. And still shipped the trucks lmao.

Finally found a preformance brake kit for a 2wd s10. And its from Wilwood  :). For just shy of $900. Not bad. Comes with new bearings as well. Maybe I'll shove this on the list of hopes and dreams of 2016. Things I need to consider: It'll be harder to get replacement pads and rear bearing seals (because of my tapered roller bearings)

http://www.carid.com/wilwood/forged-dynalite-pro-series-front-brake-kit-mpn-140-11009-dr.html?gclid=CjwKEAiA7_OzBRDA8OfT3orp51oSJACVqslIDF_RPmXr2LII71soxWdFn_wxB9QEIBuRql12Q21CthoCY-Xw_wcB

TL;DR:

These spinny things make the slow thing stop faster

900? For a performance brake kit? For an E39 M5 just the front alone is 2 grand.

Well this is just the fronts. I want to keep drums in the rear. (you've got to deal with BMW tax, I drive an S10)

ok but even still, for a protege, they're still 1250 for the fronts. and the rear is another 850.
