Fastest Program to unzip .ISO files

im currently using winrar to unzip .iso files but i wonder if any1 know if someone have done some benchmarks on the fastest program to unzip iso files.

i don't have any problem with winrar but i wouldn't mind a faster unzipper :)

iso files usually are not even compressed so the time it takes to extract the contents is about equal to the time it would take to move these files from one HDD to another.

you can mount iso files directly to show up as an optical drive in win 10 AFAIK.

I just mount them up as an optical drive. Windows 10 can do it without extra apps and it's pretty fast (click, and it's there).

SuperPi (v1.5 from Techpowerup, PI value output) 16K: 0.100s 1M: 8.255s 32M: 7m 45.93s

7-zip is the faster vs winrar but as others have said .iso files arent compressed and just need to be mounted i use virtual clone drive.

 

However an .iso file can be compressed which then will need an extraction before mounting but it will have an  extension like .rar or .7z or .rxx where xx is a series of ascending numbers in the latter case you would unzip only the first .r00

hm ye i used previously daemon tools before but i don't like having to unmount it after im done. 7.zip i only have for specific archives which winrar doesn't support and dunno if any other programs have the function that winrar have with the Ascii art inside the archives, some like to do some cool art in there which i enjoy seeing :D

I use Damn nfo viewer for the ascii art to open the .nfo files that contain it
