Please DO NOT Buy Escape From Tarkov!!!

FIRSTLY THIS IS JUST MY OPINION, YOU ARE ALSO ENTITLED TO ONE!!! <3

 

So... how do i begin (TLDR below), near the beginning of the escape from tarkov beta i purchased the standard edition, servers were trash for anyone in or near Australia as there was no dedicated servers for around 6 months. I was pleased with the game and after giving us new servers it seemed to run ok. I then went and made a post on the Escape From Tarkov Beta Tester Fourm and stated that the devs were kinda scummy for not allowing refunds even though in Australia it is illegal to refuse a refund (The ACCC made Steam create a refund system :D), i wanted to know why the devs did not allow for refunds. In my post show below i did not use foul language and also was not intentionally being racist to the devs, however after only 10 minutes i was hit with a forum ban.

 

 

As seen above i was not overly rude, i just wanted to know about their scummy business practices...

 

The post was then removed and i was banned from the forums... THE BETA FORUMS WHERE YOU ASK QUESTIONS AND GIVE IDEAS!!!

The censorship from these devs is ridiculous, not to mention their breaches of laws put in place by the ACCC

Also below is the reason why i was banned.... utter garbage

 

PLEASE DO NOT BUY INTO THIS GAME!

 

TLDR: There is ZERO customer service and don't even think about getting a refund, if you have cash to throw around, fine buy the game but don't expect any respect from this company staff!

Your comments were OK until you basically insulted them. Thats not how you get a positive response from anyone. You shot first and missed in this occasion and they no scoped you and carried on with their day.

Scummy isn't remotely nice, you know how its meant to be taken. Unless you use it so much that you are desensitized to how its perceived. Its especially bad because its a presumption they are the lowest of the low without giving them a chance to explain anything. Had you said "sneaky" they probably wouldn't have banned you.

Did you look around for a solution before resorting to insults?

Did you try contacting them directly? (as opposed to calling them names in the forum)

 

It clearly says that the amount you paid is 'None-refundable', did you actually do any research before urging people not to buy the game?

Don't use "nobody reads the ToS and EULA anyways" as an excuse.

I think his main issue is that the ToS is in conflict with Australian law.

 

But its in Beta, expect some crappy aspects that need to be worked on. Its kind of obvious and tbh if you're preordering or paying for betas then i hope a lesson has been learnt not to support the practice. For me it was Destiny when i was a peasant. Never again.

If you've actually read the EULA then you would've known that your actions would result in a ban, stop acting surprised and stop ruining their reputation.

Here's a poster from the ACCC and ACL, it says, "We are not required to provide a refund or replacement if you change your mind."

It also has 'criterias' showing you which instances could entitle you to a refund, if you feel like you deserve a refund and said company does not offer that then you can file a complaint, Here.

If said company fails to explain why they have this policy then they might face the same legal battle that Valve went through, which we all know how that ended.

I strongly agree with this, it's not like the game is complete or in any way, shape or form polished to run superbly well; they are still testing the game and its mechanics, that's basically what you signed up for.

Your job as a beta tester is to TEST the game, you're supposed to inform the devs if you encountered any bugs and/or if you have any suggestions that can improve the gameplay, if you failed to realize it then that's on you buddy.

i tried early access too with "ARK survival evolved" and wasnt disappointed, it only took like 2 years  to get from alpha and early access into the full release

and tarkov is a nice game with big potential, not mentioning the currently bad/ lagy servers and many bugs

Not just the devs, their fanbase is dreadful aswell, they attacked in force to Mack from Worth a Buy on YouTube for calling out the game being pay 2 win.

I strongly agree with this, it's not like the game is complete or in any way, shape or form polished to run superbly well; they are still testing the game and its mechanics, that's basically what you signed up for.

Your job as a beta tester is to TEST the game, you're supposed to inform the devs if you encountered any bugs and/or if you have any suggestions that can improve the gameplay, if you failed to realize it then that's on you buddy.

See the thing is... these devs cant handle critics, its a beta game so i spent 6 months asking for AUS server with no response, they have horrible PR.

no, i couldn't play a game for 6 months due to no Australian based servers and then complained and said well if you wont fix this shit then why cant i get a refund and then i was banned....
