Noyu

So assuming I had a ton of money to buy A SINGLE GPU of my liking.

Well both are insanely over $1000 right now, but surprisingly the 1080 ti is cheaper, and its also better

Try using the PSU Tier List!

Which should I buy, 1080Ti or Vega 64?

GTX 1080 ti consumes like 20-50 Watt less, and has 30% more performance. And also, 3gb more Vram.

Vega 64 = GTX 1080 in terms of Stock performance (+- few single %), but at a much higher power consumption.

But before you just get some stupid advices without knowing anything behind:

Is your System still the latest? i5 7500, and a LG 27MP68VQ-P Monitor?

If yes, i would not get a 1080 ti. Your monitor is 1080p at 75 Hz, which means, more than 75 fps makes no sense. 1080 ti delivers MANY more fps, and the performance is completely wasted.

Also, a low clock speed i5 7500 (only 4 cores, 4 threads) will most likely bottleneck a 1080 ti in many modern titles, especially in 1080p.

Other words: Your Monitor bottlenecks the Graphic card (GPU is way too strong for this Monitor), and even if it weren't, your CPU might bottleneck depending on game.

--> You pay for a performance, you probably won't be able to utalize well. Making the +30% performance gain over a cheaper GTX 1080 to maybe only +10%.

Exception: You plan to use DSR with x4.00 factor (which makes it to 4k), and use a simulated 4k resolution on your 1080p Monitor, which will look MUCH sharper. With this tool you will be able to bring the 1080 ti down to it's knees, your CPU won't bottleneck (noticeably), and you will have a much sharper image.

Or, of course, you upgraded your Monitor, or plan to (for example, 1440p + 144 Hz + G-Sync)

ooh uuuh my bad there. the question was more oriented on the 1080Ti vs the Vega64.

I don't plan on buying any of the 2 cards (or am I? heh heh) as I'm still happy with my 1080p gaming setup. hahaha

obviously I'm not gonna install a 1080Ti on my current setup. ahaha

Since AMD is selling all Vegas totally Overpriced and they are not in Stock.. Grab Nvidia.. Can´t belive me as AMD fan would say that.. But AMD is lost in their own reality. Vega56 is priced like a 1080ti! So grab Nvidia.

You could've make a poll and state that you don't plan to buy but looking to see the community's opinion. If I were an moderator I would delete this thread.

You go and read in depth reviews of the cards and see which one pulls ahead since the money are not a problem.

It was 2 days ago. Must have been sold out already. To be honest, if I had the money I would have bought it and flipped it or keep it for when I get a more powerful PSU.

See, seeing benchmarks isn't everything. For all I know some people owned BOTH items and prefer one over the other..

Anyways let's not dwell on this further. I admit I didn't make the OP very clear as to what I wanted for answers.
