They'll be at different price ranges. One was revealed at $500 as a direct "competitor" - another was announced at about $1500 or so. Or you could build your own at any pricepoint you want.

 

The point is to have a fully configurable living room machine.

As rashdanml said each steam consoles will be at different price ranges depending on what you want. These are built out of left over out of the shelf parts.

But either way I don't think Linus was one of those lucky participants for the steam console, unless some one voluntary gives it to him that review is most likely not going to happen

These will never compete with consoles, they're too different and will probably cost too much and don't have enough of a non pc gaming fan base to convince the console plebs to switch over, I really do wish it would cause a change, but we'll have to wait a few years when the "next-gen" consolss start slowing down.
