New Years - What are you doing?

I am hitting a movie (rated 70%+ on rotten tomatoes) then going for a good bite to eat, then gotta wait a few hours for the dance to start in the church. Then at 12:20am going to head home. Hopefully there will be some nice "eye candy" at the dance I can put my moves on and get back in the game. Just hope they are normies. The great bonus for this one is that there is only a 750m walk, so no buses, no taxis needed.

 

Another option for me was the city shindig, fireworks, band, maybe some food trucks maybe. This one was tied with the first one I listed.

 

Third option - I was debating whether to hit up the casino, eat a really nice buffet spread, listen to the band, but its a casino, sure I could bet, havent placed a bet in 10+ yrs then there are the boozies.

 

Those were my only 2 plans. I couldnt think of anything else going on.

I am watching ball drop on TV then watch YouTube and Netflix ( star wars mostly ), maybe some anime and then tomorrow watching the last jedi.

 

I wanted to go to downtown duluth ( suburb of Atlanta )and get photos of the event ( I like photography and wanted to fuck with the image in LR ) but my parents won't let me because they think it may snow

OK well the dance was a semi-dud, 20-25 people and about 4-8 kids. I still enjoyed it. A milf showed up that I kept eyeing she was sexy! wearing boot heels, she came with another woman, much younger who wore flat heeled boots, still sexy. Then much younger ones in the corner, my guess would have been early 20's easily so too young for me, some you guys woulda dug them. I bailed on the tear down of the stage because I would have gotten home too late, as it was I got home at 1:15am, left right after midnight.

 

Yes I was the prick on transit blowing the noise maker and paddling the clapper. Everyone sat on on the back as I sat in the front  

Thing was, I was getting tired of blowing the noise maker, what I was trying to do was match the noise makers to the beat of RHCP I had going loud in my ear buds. I noticed when the end of the song came that it was pretty darn loud.

I went to a party, nothing special really. Found out the host can't time things in the oven; ended up with a tray of raw breaded prawns, some undercooked mini quiches and 3 burnt oven pizzas. Apparently you should just take an average of how long each thing takes and stick it all in.

 

Highlight of my day was driving to this shack that sold fireworks in the middle of a field. Spent like £50 there, had an amazing firework display featuring this massive one that had the guys neighbors out in the street threatening to call the police.

 

Ended up with a cold today and have had to have a day in. Unsure whether that's because of that new year party or my housemate's birthday on the 29th. Either way, I feel awful and can't be arsed venturing down 3 flights of stairs to the kitchen to make myself a coffee to cure my caffeine withdrawal.

 

@Canada EH Sounds alright, can't help but fault the logic of picking up women at a church with kids there though.

Well the kids were not from the women I was eyeballing. Every one... of the 2, I had my eyes on were single from what I could tell. Not much of a field to play, I will get back into the groove with meetups, I went to a coffee meetup yrs ago, and this one older lady, 12 yrs older then me had an odd flirtation style. Gotta get into Alpha mode

hung out with a few friends, had a few drinks, played pool and cards against humanity. one of my friends got really drunk and we got mcdonalds cause it was the only thing open at 11:20pm. good time

God forbid who was working at that mcpukes, I shake my head everytime I go into any franchise.

I had to wait 5 minutes for a large cup for pop. Sure I could have asked right off the bat, but sometimes I play along.

When I did get my large cup, I said "It took 5 minutes to get a cup" plopped my ear buds in and turned away. The worker said something, but my tunes cancelled out her BS. They aint the brightest, some of them. Timmies, Subway, Starbucks.... any franchise.

If I was the worker and I had to deal with you I'd make you wait longer because of how entitled you were acting, doesn't hurt to have manners and be patient

Ended up DD'ing friends to our local watering hole and sat around for 5 hours until new years hit, then drove everyone home. When I say DD I mean, we all had drinks and shots to feel great about ourselves and have a good time, but I decided to do the right thing and stop drinking so I could get people home safe. Plus, as much as I was welcome to stay over at a friends place in the spare downstairs bedroom while she was in town, it would not have been a good idea. Still a great way to ring in the new year with good friends, music, and hugs.
