1080p 144Hz or 1440p 60Hz?

For my new i5-8600K and GTX 1070 FTW.

Need opinions.

Price is roughly the same.

Both displays are 27".

for fps games 144hz but for nice games that are aethstetically pleasing 60hz 1440p (also take pixel density into consideration)

true but 1440p looks real nice and a 1070 is more geared towards that resolution. i have a 1060 on a 1080p 60hz panel and the 60hz dosen't bother me at all hell i enjoy a 1080p experience and Id rather a higher res over a little more hz (as in what they eye can comprehend)

Get 1080p for games, or get 1440p for video editing.

1080p for 27" unless you sit very far from your monitor, its very ugly. I recommend getting a 24" 1080p panel.

A 1440p 8th panel is not a good look. If you are going 1440p you need ips otherwise I would take a 1080p ips panel over the 1440p tn.

I'd go with 1440p ips, unless you are into eSports, in which case you should get the  1080p 144Hz

 I would get a 1440p, get IPS though. You won't regret it.

If it's just for games, 1080p vs 1440p makes no difference, go for 144Hz then.

For desktop usage, 1440p it is.

If both are TN, refresh rate matters more than resolution.

 

If the 1440p is IPS, possibly go for that

Depends what you're playing. If you're mainly an first person shooter player, definitely go for the highest refresh rate you can afford and run stable. If you mostly play AAA titles at the highest possible settings, 60Hz is fine although I would recommend 75Hz as it's significantly smoother and only requires an additional 15 fps to maintain.
