Dark Rock Pro 3 in NZXT S340 Elite?

Hello, I wanted to get a cooler for a 1700X, and I was suggested the Dark Rock Pro 3, which is 163mm tall, but my case, from the specs, supports up to 161mm. Some say they are using this cooler in my same case, but I am not so sure. Do you guys know anything?

The DRP3 fits in the S340 which also states 161mm clearance, so it will probably fit in the elite too:

I think they leave a little extra space in their advertised measurements, so it shouldn't interfere with the glass.

@EndermanDo you know if I'll be able to mount it right away on a MSI X370 Gaming Pro or if I need the mounting kit?

I've personally fir a 161.7mm cooler in it, but it's very tight

The cooler should come with an AM4 mounting bracket according to the website specs.

Just an FYI the DRP3 is a great cooler but an absolute nightmare to install. Also if you have 4 RAM slots filled with tall RAM, like the Corsairs Dominator Platinum, RGB, or Vengeance LED, you will have clearance issues with that cooler.

@JM21 I will be installing Vengeance LED. What cooler would you suggest me then?

I would recommend the Cryorig R1 Universal, it has zero RAM clearance issues and performs just as good as the DRP3

That's to bad, you may have to go for low profile RAM like Corsair Vengeance. Even in the latest Scrap Yard Wars both Linus and Lukes teams had the DRP3 and Luke had to cut the tall heat spreaders off his RAM, so you'll either need different RAM or go with a different cooler.

In your case if you want Vengeance LED RAM you can get the Dark Rock 3, or the H5 Universal, they won't be as big of air coolers but still will perform well and will allow you to use your RAM, otherwise go for an AIO.
