And yet my Mac(s) and iPhone(s) are the only phones/laptops that I haven't had even an ounce of regret in buying over the past decade of using them -- the same can't be said for any of the windows laptops (XPS16, 2015 XPS 15, SP3), Android phones (Droid X, HTC Thunderbolt, Razr Maxx), or Android Tablets (Note 8.0) I've owned.

I'll say it again, if you are even the slightest bit persistent, you can go to an Apple store and get them to basically do whatever you want -- regardless of your warranty status.

Oh, and let's still not pretend that 99% of that thread doesn't also apply to Samsung, LG, Motorola, HTC, OnePlus, etc...

I could continue, but the point is, these are all things Apple has taken shit for, and yet all companies do it.

Fair point. I do not use mobile devices regularly and generally hate using them. I'd prefer a proper desktop setup with my many monitors and room for activities.

I do use a phone, android. Not sure what but I don't like it. The Windows Phone had such a better layout. They were just way too late to the game and there was basically no app support for popular shit. I've used iPhones before. Don't like them either.

As for laptops? I never really saw the point in getting one. Sure others need them and that's fine, but I think of them as a waste of money. They don't last long enough (lifespan, not battery life. At least not just battery life) and IMHO they are much much less capable than a desktop even for simple office work. Our cheap ass company uses them in place of desktops at work, and thing it's fine if you just stick a monitor on top and have it set to run through the output (they basically use it like a small AIO I guess?).

You'd think that would be fine, but considering the quickness with which they die and need to be replaced, it becomes a problem on an internal network with AD and networked printers and other crap. They'd be a thousand times better off with even the cheapest desktop PC at Best Buy.
