$673

Larger case though, but if you can find somewhere to hide it away it's fine.. also has good ariflow, so can just use the wraith spire cooler then if you want.

looks good to me, should perform similar to the Toaster Project which should be just fine for 1080p medium or so

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Or switch that i5 for an G4560 and get a GTX 1060 which is still somewhat balanced enough...

Gave that some thought, but CS:GO, Overwatch, and PUBG are the main games to be played and they all depend heavily on CPU for decent framerates. Obviously CS wouldn't be a huge deal and Overwatch might run OK but I feel that PUBG would be unplayable on a G4560.

If you want to save a bit more money and don't mind the case being a little bigger, you can go with the above.

I am doing this build mainly for a (reasonably) powerful SFF vertical PC for my family/friends. Not personally a fan of the bulldog looking design. Although they look cool, they really aren't very practical.

Damn, forgot... you can also ditch the extra cooler if you want then, to save another $30+, but that cooler is pretty nice.

Can't skip on the cooler without changing the case :(

Pardon me if I'm out of the loop, but why? I was under the impression that all the 3GB ones perform only marginally better than a 1050ti for ~$70+ more, and the 6GB ones are $300+.

a gtx 1060 3gb is insanely better than a 1050ti, and they are 170 dollars if you know where to shop. so for 20 dollars more you get a 25% faster gpu.

also you can just save the hassle and get a prebuilt gtx 1060 pc w/ an i5 7th gen for 750 bucks.

well  for starters,

First one is an FX-4300, clock speed means nothing. Just bad.

Second one is actually a good deal for the current sale price, but out of my budget.

Third one is not only a 970, but also an i5-6400 which was OK in the other example because of the 1070, but here the price doesn't justify the parts.

fine, not the first one. doesnt matter. the 1070 is like 10x as good as a 1050 ti and it's only 20 more dollars, and its also prebuilt. just dont eat lunch for a few days. and a 970 is WAY better than a 1050, way way way. look up the benchmark. with a 1050 you will barely manage playing games like overwatch but with a 970 you will demolish the fps.

OK, you've got me there. Now I would buy it if it were SFF, which is the purpose of this build.
