Which should i upgrade, CPU or GPU

I have an RTX 3060 12GB and an I5-9600K, I am thinking of upgrading, but still not sure which to upgrade first, my options are split between an RX 7700 XT or upgrading to an I5-13600K.
I play mostly Valorant and some other tittles as well, tho no triple As.
As for the price of each I'd say its about the same for both upgrades for me.

I only play on 1080p

CPU first.  IT's a single threaded almost 6 year old CPU.

Look at the 7800X3D as well.  Intel ain't the only show in town.  But honestly even a Ryzen 5600 will be an upgrade, so you have a lot of options.,

What's the rest of your specs such as psu (make, model & age), RAM and storage. What's your budget and what country are you located.

7800x3d doubles the cost for me, ive set my eyes on the 13600k because I can get it for a decent price (half the 7800x3d) as for the 5600 i really hate going from one dead platform to another dead platform so i would rather stay away from that.

You can get the 13600K under $170?  If so, grab it.

FYI, dead platform though.

What motherboard? My 9900K runs RAM at 3200MHz on a Z370.

other than the thread count not much of a difference in gaming performance (bench marked it when a friend got the 12400f)

problem with this one is the difference bet ween the 12600kf and 13600k in price is around 15$ so it just starts to feel pointless-ish

I only play on 1080p

just saw another option for the gpu is also an rx 6800 xt, again same price

get the 13600k

board wise a cheaper z690 will do or if you can find a b660/b760 for sigificantly cheaper than a z690 then thatd work too but it doesnt make sense to buy a b660/760 at the same price as a z690 and still only end up with a similar board in terms of i/o but you cant undervolt properly

ram can be transferred over, should run 3200 bare minimum but can go higher if its a decent ic, also official max ram speeds are bullshit and shouldnt be followed cause those are just jedec specs that intel/amd guarantees all cpus can hit and definitely dont reflect the imcs actual capabilities

Spoiler

IMG_20240523_141857.thumb.jpg.206f4279a66dc601e4f7973fca25e548.jpgIMG_20240523_141901.thumb.jpg.d01b76368f8f561795a9bc9dadf87a55.jpgIMG_20240330_233353.thumb.jpg.e9ba5766ec80228368cf2df120dc0b55.jpg

topmost pic is 243% over the imcs official max speed (1333) and bottom pic is 319% max official imc speed (1066)

max stable speeds would be ~2900 for my 2nd best w3503 on 2 sticks (272%) and probably around 2900-3000 (218%-225%) on 3 sticks for the w3680 but my middle stick in particular is trash so stuck at ~2750c10 stable for now, and yes i am definitely exceeding the boards max rated speed aswell (2200) cause thats also a whole lot of bullshit

with the 9600k id expect around 4400 (165%) and with the 13600k id expect anywhere from 4200-4500 gear 1 (131%-141%) or 5200+ gear 2 (163%+) given capable rams and a good board, heres a ddr4 example of 5400 on a 13600kf gear 2
