Unless your classes use some sort of Apple only language like Objective C or Swift, Windows for maximum compatibility. If you need to work on Linux, use VirtualBox and setup a VM.

 

However, it may not matter in the end because any competent school with a Computer Science major should have a computer lab with all of the tools you need to use available to you.

Windows 10. Visual Studio is awesome for both C++ and C#, Python etc. work well as well. 

Write in C.
