Dude, how in the world would software reduce bandwidth so much? Regular USB-C with USB 3.1 Gen 1 is around 10Gbps, while TB3 is 40Gb/s.

 

How you would expect someone to make an eGPU dock that works with regular USB-C? Even if it could, the bandwidth is just too small to handle a GPU.
