Well they won't die on you like the Xbox just did. By that I mean if a component goes bad you can simply replace said component with a variety of different options and prices. Also upgradeablity. But if you really want to stick with Xbox I would get the Xbox one x for the console that will be more powerful and last longer on its relevancy.

IMO go with the Xbox One X. You may as well get the best, plus it is smaller and has integrated PSU unlike the current Xbox you have.
Some stores will have trade in promotions on the Xbox one X trading up from another Xbox.

CORSAIR RIPPER: AMD 3970X - 3080TI & 2080TI - 64GB Ram - 2.5TB NVME SSD's - 35" G-Sync 120hz 1440P
MFB (Mining/Folding/Boinc): AMD 1600 - 3080 & 1080Ti - 16GB Ram - 240GB SSD
Dell OPTIPLEX:  Intel i5 6500 - 8GB Ram - 256GB SSD

the xbox one s has integrated PSU as well. the only thing i'm worried about if i get the one s is that it wont be able to keep up with all the new games coming out and i could get the one s from my parents for my bday but the x comes out in november so ill have to pay myself.
