which graphics card should i get?

I am confused between gtx 1060 6gb, RX 480 4gb or RX 470 8gb

Pricing is not a factor . I am aware of the price hikes. I just need to know which one of the above three cards is good in performance. I will be mostly playing GTA V online at high settings.

From these 3 the GTX 1060 6GB will perform best in GTA V, especially if you enable MFAA in NVIDIA Control Panel to override MSAA for better performance.

I played with GTX 1060 6GB overclocked at 1440p Ultra + maxed out advanced settings + x2MFAA + TXAA at around 50FPS in Online.

Is the 1060 better than RX 580 4gb?

Depends on game. The 580 is a bit better overall but then you would sacrifice 2GB of VRAM.

The 580 8GB is a clear winner over GTX 1060 6GB.

the RX 480/ RX 580 is the stronger overall card but its pretty close to the 1060 6GB and trades blows with it. in GTA V i dont know which card comes out on top so go look at some benchmark videos or something off that at the resolution you want to play at(1080p/1440p) and see how they preform comparativly. the 470 is great value but it gets beaten by both the other cards.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
