does the EVGA warranty void if i OC the GPU?

i asked EVGA if it voids the warranty and they said yes it does, but there's a lot of forum posts on even EVGA's own forums saying that it does not in fact void the warranty, was just wondering if anyone has dealt with it before

just don't tell them if something happens and you need to RMA

I dont think they can prove that you overclocked it, unless you did some extreme cooling stuff (like dice)

Sometimes companies will give standard answers like that to cover their asses from mass exploitation of good customer service.

 

I wouldn't worry unless you actually did something way out of the norm.

I can't remember who said it, it might have been on a video from LTT, but I heard that EVGA couldn't care less unless you did some heavy modification. Even then, they (can't remember who) said that if you just replaced the stock cooler after you took it off, it would be fine.

its worse now, i took everything i dont need off my desktop, now i just have a screen full of winrar files lol

Normally once you open the package the product is voided. So to play it safe, just sit it on a shelf until it goes bad and you need to rma it.
