So far just the hard drive, from my old 120GB IDE WD (WD1200BB) to the new 250GB SATA WD (WD2500AAKX).

I want an Athlon II X3 455 though. My Sempron HATES NFS: Carbon.

My question would be: what constitutes a new rig? :-P my case is 8 years old, and that isn't the only part that once was part of the same system as parts from my first computer

GPU: Radeon 4870X2(failed) -> Geforce GTX 660 Ti

RAM: 3 GB DDR3 1333 -> 6 GB DDR3 1600

PSU: LC Power 750W(failed) -> Seasonic G450

CPU: 2,66 GHz -> 3,8 GHz oc

Storage: Replaced one of my two WD Blacks, added a corsair 120 GB SSD, which failed within 3 months, so I then got an OCZ Agility 3.

Cooling: Stock Intel -> Akasa Nero 3

Case Fans: 2*Thermaltake xxxxx -> 2*Corsair AF120

LCD: Philips 190V -> Dell U2412M

Keyboard: Logitech G11(failed) -> Razer Blackwidow 2013

Added a Transcend PCIe USB 3 card

Rewired the whole thing.

Succesfully ruined 2 USB headsets(one was actually replaced under warranty, lol), replaced with wireless ones.

Thinking about changing the case when funds permit.

performance?

2gb VRAM > 4GB (better for my eyefinity)

I can take those 680s off your hands. You wouldn't want those things to sit there gathering dust would you :P

Excluding two DOA products in my initial order (tough luck, eh).

AMD Athlon X6 1055T > AMD FX-8350 + CoolerMaster TX3 > Corsair H100i

Sapphire 5770 (Vapor-X, mind you) > MSI 560ti Twin Frozr

Not Athlon, it's a Phenom. Silly. Please change it. It's bugging me. Please.

I was wondering how many times you've replaced or added a component to your current rig.

Oh come on you know I can't count high enough to answer that.

Does a whole new platform still count as the same PC? Cause I've done that atleast 4 times and always carried atleast 2 old parts over to the new platform.

I upgraded the gpu 2 times gtx570 -> 590 -> 780

The monitor from a benq g2420hd -> xl2411t

the ram from 1600mhz vengeance -> 1600 Dominator -> 1866 vengeance. all 8gb

and did some stuff for the looks.

 Out of curiosity, did you ever notice any performance differences when you bought new ram?
