What should I upgrade first?

Go to solution Solved by hconverse02,

Definitely the gpu.  The pentium won't bottleneck it and you can upgrade to kaby lake i7 much later in the future.

This is what I have right now:
CPU: G4560
Motherboard: Z270
RAM: 16GB
PSU: 600W
HDD: 1TB.
No GPU, no SSD, no "K" CPU.
I aim mostly for gaming and casual video editing (I'm practicing), what should I upgrade first?
1- i7-7700K and CPU cooler
2- RX 580 8GB and SSD.
I can't do both at the same time due to tight budget issues.

Well, since you have no GPU yet I would get that first.

CPU: i7-12700KF Grill Plate Edition // MOBO: Asus Z690-PLUS WIFI D4 // RAM: 16GB G.Skill Trident Z 3200MHz CL14

GPU: MSI GTX 1080 FE // PSU: Corsair RM750i // CASE: Thermaltake Core X71 // BOOT: Samsung Evo 960 500GB

STORAGE: WD PC SN530 512GB + Samsung Evo 860 500GB // COOLING: Full custom loop // DISPLAY: LG 34UC89G-B

I would say GPU. Without one you cannot game at all (well you can, just not most games comfortably). A good GPU can help in video editing too.

For example Adobe Premiere can render videos on Nvidia GPU's, Sony Vegas on AMD GPU's.

GPU and SSD

Yeah.  Kaby lake pentium will be good for a while

http://www.gamersnexus.net/guides/2913-when-does-the-intel-pentium-g4560-bottleneck-gpu

"It all depends on the games, as usual, but we’ve also got to keep reality in mind: With the G4560, buying anything beyond a 1060 or 580 is sort of unrealistic. Going $300 on a GPU and $70 on a CPU, unless planning to swap the G4560 at a later date, is not going to be a common scenario."

So, GPU+SSD will be. By the way, what'd be a better investment (in terms of value)? 120GB or 240GB SSD? Also, what SSD brand do you recommend me? I don't want fancy M.2 or overpriced Samsung SSDs.

I would say Crucial MX300 275GB. It will be a bit more than 120GB, but will be worth it in the end.

And samsung's 850 evo 250 GB isn't overpriced. I have it and my pc boots in 5 secs which is pretty impressive for sata ssd.

Well, the cheapest i7-7700K I could find at local stores (here, in Argentina) costs $450 USD, plus a decent CPU cooler like the Lucifer V2 would be around $530 (total). All RX 580 8GB are about $300-350, plus the cheapest 240GB SSD would be around $420-470 (total). So the most I'd spend is $530.

Here, in Argentina, they're much overpriced, such as Corsair.

@Minibois.

Damn, sucks. Here they are just 10 euros more than Sandisk's/WD's 240GB offerings and equal in price compared to Samsung 850 Evo 250GB.

Those brands mentioned would be my second suggestion after Crucial. (WD bought Sandisk like a year ago now, the WD SSD's are just repackaged/branded Sandisk SSD's)

Also, question out of curiosity. Does Argentina have the same very high import costs like Brazil does? Or is stuff imported from Brazil, meaning you would still get shafted with the import costs?
