WASTE OF MONEY!Why would someone buy an unlocked cpu if they don't wanna oc?You should have gotten the 4790

Because for $20 you get 4.0GHz base clock while with the non-K 4790 you get only 3.6GHz.

It has a higher base clock and better resale

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

I have the i5 6600K with an EZ overclock to 4.1GHz. Holds like a rock, and the be quiet pro 3 cooler doesn't make a sound. I recommend

brah... its the gpu not the cpu, what do you think is going to happen...  the fact youre trying to steam pubg with a 970 tells me its the gpu.

the game isnt well optimised for a start and a 970 isnt going to run it very well without streaming either.

Going to i5 6600k from i7 4790k would be a huge downgrade.

Τrue. I didn't see the i7 4790K. My bad

tbh if you can afford it, go with Ryzen 7. That would be a proper upgrade

i never said he was? you do realise obs etc has an affect on fps?

a 970 alone cant really run pubg extremely well and stressing the cpu further is going to make his performance worse.

If you want to upgrade from a 4790K, you should get a Ryzen 5 1600 or a Ryzen 7 1700. They are quite a bit better for streaming.

@App4that and @jjohnthedon1 have upgraded from a 4790K to Ryzen so they should be able to tell you more about this :D

CPU: Intel Core i7-5820K | Motherboard: AsRock X99 Extreme4 | Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX 1080 G1 Gaming | RAM: 16GB G.Skill Ripjaws4 2133MHz | Storage: 1 x Samsung 860 EVO 1TB | 1 x WD Green 2TB | 1 x WD Blue 500GB | PSU: Corsair RM750x | Case: Phanteks Enthoo Pro (White) | Cooling: Arctic Freezer i32

Mice: Logitech G Pro X Superlight (main), Logitech G Pro Wireless, Razer Viper Ultimate, Zowie S1 Divina Blue, Zowie FK1-B Divina Blue, Logitech G Pro (3366 sensor), Glorious Model O, Razer Viper Mini, Logitech G305, Logitech G502, Logitech G402

Indeed we have and we both get better and more stable fps

better temps and a better platform

I have a 1600 and a 1700 and they are both better than the 4790k for me once there clocked to 4ghz

the liwer score was the 4790k at 4.8

the higher one was with the 1700 at 4ghz after the last update

as you can see there is a big difference for games that get patched for it and I am fairly confidant future games will be ryzen/ more core ready as even intel is pusing 6 core main stream

both cpus are absolute power houses

me and app for that both still have our 4790ks and if there were better we would use it instead

ryzen was a massive difference for me in gaming in terms of smoothness and consistance

Yep, I get better fps now with my 1700X than I did with my 4790k. Forza Horizon and Sniper Elite are the big winners, but Deus Ex gets an honorable mention.

I'm sitting at 3,9Ghz on the CPU, 3333MHz on the RAM.

If anyone asks you never saw me.

The i7-4790k and GTX 970 are not the issue, for playerunknowns battlegrounds do the following:

Set anti aliasing, post processing, shadows, and other settings to very low, and set the brightness to 80.

or

Look up some custom configs for the game.

That game lags even on a i7-6700 and GTX 1080 if you don't turn SOME settings down, it's just buggy and glitchy at the moment.

As for H1Z1, you may be running into issues with how much ram your graphics card has, in which case you should get a GPU with more ram, like a GTX 1060 (6gb)

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 @3.7ghz (1.3v) Cooler: NZXT Kraken X62 GPU: Zotac Mini GTX 1060 Case: NZXT - S340 (Black/Blue) Mobo: MSI B350m mortar arctic

RAM: Team Vulcan DDR4 (2x4gb, 2666mhz) Storage: Toshiba 1tb 7200rpm HDD, PNY CS1311 Sata SSD (6gb/s) PSU: EVGA - BQ 500w 80+ Bronze semi modular
