Are there any uses for an 8800 GT?

One of my coworkers offered to give me an 8800 GT. I like free stuff but I can't think of a use for it with it being so dated. Can any of you think of a use for a card like this? Thanks for your thoughts

I have a 9800gtx sitting on the shelf. It is too old, about ten years. Pretty sure it would struggle against an igpu. Prob be stuck on directx 9 or 10 so useless.

You can use it as an extra display adapter for a secondary monitor (although it will also take more power along with your main GPU). I also think that card can somewhat handle CS: GO, if you play that.

There's a lot of things. You could make a HTPC off it, more or less. A very basic gaming rig. A big fat paperweight

 

Or a board to practice soldering and desoldering :)

I have an 8400 GS in my computer, and it's not too bad. Gets about 40 FPS in Minecraft (I use it as a test) whereas this Sandy Bridge i3 laptop I'm using gets 1 FPS (not joking).

I thought about this too but I had forgotten that my motherboard only has one 8x16 pcie slot. So I think I might keep it as a back up in case my regular card breaks so that I would still be able to connect to my modern screen

An HTPC could work I might do that. I like the soldering idea too haha but I hardly ever have a reason to solder
