Intel's Kaby Lake CPUs have been out for a while now, and AMD's Ryzen CPUs are slated for a first-quarter release. With those winds of change blowing, I figure it's time to see how the PC builders in the Linus Tech Tips Forum are making their plans for their next systems. Are you sticking with what you have? Did you already build a Kaby Lake PC? Or are you waiting for Ryzen no matter what? Let me know using the poll options above or comment below if you are unsure.

Considering I am broke af and the only thing I can afford in the future is 8GB stick of DDR3 memory I'd go with haswell

I'm sticking with my current PC. I don't think ryzen will have any options worthwhile for me if I need to upgrade my RAM and motherboard also. if I'm only buying an RX470 for a new graphics card I think my fx6300 @ 4.3ghz will do ok.

Personal build >  New-ish AMD main gaming setup

I'm still rolling with my 5 year old system right now. Trying to get at least another year or two out of it yet.

I will be building a Ryzen system, then I will figure out what I will do with it afterwards, my fileserver needs an upgrade and I need a dedicated render box. If Ryzen gives groundbreaking performance per dollar, I might get two.

Don't have budget atm, but will prob go AMD for GF's new build. The 2500K I gave her is still good, but that mobo is questionable.

I was able to get a 6700k for $260 at Microcenter a bit before Kaby Lake came out, so I'm happy with that.

Why not 4790K?
