I'm not really brand-loyal when it comes to audio gear. I have gone mostly for Sennheiser, but thats mainly since their earbuds have nice price-quality ratio.

I voted for Philips because the SHP 9500 and M1 headphones are simply perfect. They don't mess around with boomy bass and shrieking treble. 

 

But, keep in mind that Philips' entry level headphones are super cheap feeling and sound hollow. 

 

The same can be said for Sennheiser. You get stellar products...at a price. The cheap stuff is disapointing. 

 

So...don't be loyal to a brand and do your research before you buy! Especially if you're sensitive to treble (like me).
