Is i7 3770K still relevant

Hey guys I  am currently running an i7-3770k i an H61 mobo(i  had a Z77  due on me and couldn't find a  new one)  so

stock speeds

I  have paired it with gtx1070  and I  was wondering whether it is still relevant or  not

Should I consider  buying a new  platform (Cpu + mobo)  if yes then should I  wait for Ryzen (+2  months ..the usual delay between launch and retail availability)

Or  go with kaby lake/skylake

(Ps  the system in my signature  belongs to my dad)

Also is there a  way to OC it

I'm still running a 3770K. It's definitely still relevant, it's still pretty powerful.

To OC it, you need a Z77 board. You could do some BCLK overclocking, but I'd advise against it as it's often not good for system stability.

With overclocking, the i7 3770K is very relevant. You'll need an aftermarket cooler to get a decent overclock from it, something like a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo will do fine, and is not expensive.

You'll also need either a P67 or Z77 motherboard to overclock it properly.

So  it's similar to a 6500

Closer to a i5 6600(nonk), but unless you're doing video editing you won't see a difference if you choose to upgrade to an i7 6700k.

You can find better things than the 212 evo for the same price.

When a thread is misplaced what is the best way to get mods to move it ASAP?

Report the thread and in the report ask/say where you want it placed, in case it isn't obvious where it should go.

Edit:

For any thread not just ones you have created.

Oh hell yes, it's still a VERY capable CPU. 6700K is around 24% faster on average and the 7700K is exactly the same. 3770K is also around 14% faster multithreaded-wise over an i5-6600K and around the same amount slower in singlethreaded tasks, meaning they're around equal overall.
