Call me when they won't need charging and be more expensive than wired counterparts, because until then I don't care about these or any other pair of bluetooth headphones.

You sound one of those people who are like "who the F*** needs a color tv? White n black is good enough!!".

The iCloud bit is important -- it pairs your AirPods with other Apple devices and switches between them (you can go running with your Apple Watch while using the buds normally paired with your phone, for example).

It uses Bluetooth for that (pairing)

I assume so as well, which makes it all the more insane that these will actually sell.  Does no one have a problem paying $200+ for something that will sound like they cost $5?

$1*

@themctipers Well I know you have experience with apple products and a variety of inexpensive ear buds... what would you say?

My $5 earbuds sound better

then again, it sounds about the same as $50 CX 300 II

it sounds like $1 earbuds to me (the old shit ones I have) if it was EQ'd. I'm unable to fix the apple ones with a EQ

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

I have used them. Hint; I'm typing this on an iPhone right now. I've used the 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2015 models (it changes from earbuds to EarPods in 2012 so ignore the ones pre 2012) and they sound like shit IMO.

I have them somewhere if you want a photo, but they are broken so far.

The EarPods sound okay to me. Just that they are hopeless in any environment that isn't perfectly quiet, because you won't be able to hear anything. :P

Color tvs have no drawbacks over black and white ones. Wireless headphones have been widely available for over a decade at this point, there's probably a reason people still buy wired ones.

Bluetooth headphones are gaining popularity because people like not having to deal with the wires.

But then you gotta deal with the audio quality loss and insecurity of Bluetooth. It's also another thing to charge. You gain one thing (not having to deal with wires) but then you lose three (audio quality, need to charge and security) at the same time.

I'd prefer wired headphones, thanks.

Who even wants this? It would be really easy to loose one of them or both. It is also not like Apple knows how to make headphones, granted beats have gotten better since they took over them, but it would also be hard to fuck beats up even more...

Do you need to buy a extended warranty, so when you loose one of them, you just get a new one?

If one falls out then it will hit the ground, while with the classic bluetooth IEMs it just hangs in the wire that goes to the other ear. I could see that these would break faster, than a normal pair of bluetooth earbuds or IEMs...

I can understand the desire to go wireless when it comes to on the go headphones and headsets, but not this kind of wireless. I wreck the jack on IEMs really fast, so I often use some wiresless blueshit IEMs for on the go, simply because a pair of 200$ wireless IEMs last me 2-3 years, while a pair of wired IEMs last me a month, so it is simply cheaper. I could never dream about using them at home.

Me. I don't think so, Earpods stay in my ears pretty good and these have a carrying case. I like the Earpods, but I hate the wire, so Apple is solving their problem with the headphones I like.

Good for me and good for many other people as well. There is a market for "wireless Earpods", which you apparently didn't realize.

It is a good market for apple, because a lot of people will loose one of them.

Like that wire between the two drivers were a big problem, better make something that looks like the top of an electric toothbrush, with no wire between them...

I don't have anything against them, or Apple or anything, but I'm more than sure you can buy much, much superior wireless earphones in every aspect, so why exactly would people buy this?

The ability to google properly is a skill of its own.

I like the EarPods, so I like this idea in theory - easy pairing/device switching etc.

But without a wire, these are just gonna get lost so easily!

I agree... I'm the type of person that leaves their phone somewhere around the house, and then forgets about it and ends up having to use the Find my iPhone signal tone to find it :D . EarPods are great since they leak very little, sound acceptable, or even good for what they are, and you can still hear your surroundings. I can imagine that these are ideal for conference calls, extended phonecalls on the go, etc... They're not meant for listening to music primarily. The charging and storing is elegant af :)... some good and functional design from Apple again (in terms of accessories), considering the Pencil and the new Magic Mouse (both of which charge in ways that are beyond ridiculous).

I think they're too expensive for me to consider them personally, but I can see that a lot of people might find them to be worth the money.

do people know how ridiculous they look wearing these

I don't see why. Same as normal earpods without the cable. To be frank, they look less ridiculous than people wearing Razer headphones, or (almost) any headphones outside the house.

You can prefer whatever you want. That doesn't mean Apple shouldn't sell a wireless alternative. A lot of people clearly like having wireless headphones and would gladly take the trade off of having to charge them.

A lot of people disliked that wire. Apple wasn't the first one to come out with completely wireless earbuds. There were quite a few alternatives that were already on the market (that also were/are more expensive). Just because YOU don't like them, doesn't mean they're bad or don't make sense.

Never said they were bad for blueshit IEMs.

I have said that they use blueshit, they look like the top of a electric toothbrush, you would most likely loose them faster, they would most likely break faster, since when they fall out of your ear they will hit the ground, unless something catches them and that Apple made them and they are not known for making quality earbuds, IEMs, headphones or headsets and no their earpods does not have high audio quality, you can basically just ask any audio guy about that...

Only seen one person that seem to hate the wire between two drivers and that is that other guy that quoted me.
