GTX 1070 + I5 6600k PSU Choice

NormRickard

This is the current build I am planning on purchasing, and I wanted to know if the PSU will be able to support my GPU (Wattage & PCI-E Connectors), and if it is of good enough quality to last me a while.

Thanks for the quick replies. My only concern now is if the power supply will have enough PCI-E connectors for my build because I know the AMP 1070 needs 2 x 8 pin PCI-E connectors, and wouldn't the CPU also need an 8 pin PCI-E aswell?

Yeah I have been changing the HDD and Memory because there is always something else on sale, but at this point all I really need to know is if the PSU will actually have enough connectors to power my system.

Just now, xephoneration said:

it does: PCI-Express Connector 2 x 6+2-Pin

Sorry this is my first build, but wouldn't that only be enough for the graphics card because I thought the CPU/Motherboard also needs an 8 pin PCI-E connector.

those are different connectors look at the link and incase you dont here:

1 x 20+4pin Main Connector   (MOTHERBOARD)
1 x 4/8pin CPU  (CPU)
2 x 6+2pin PCI-E (GPU)
5 x Peripheral
6 x SATA
1 x Floppy

Thanks for the clarification, I thought one of the PCI-E connectors had to go to the CPU along with the dedicated CPU connector.

I cant speak for that psu in particular but my old build had a 670 in it that required 2 8pins. i also use a raid 1 ssd array and a hdd as well as an optical drive and i had more than enough connectors with my corsair rm650x.
