Building super cheap gaming rig. Any suggestions to make it cheaper?

I am 15 and have no way to get enough for a 6700k and a GTX 1080. I have put together a list of really cheap but not old computer parts. (At least not too old) Will this run new games at medium or higher at 1080p? And is there any way to make it cheaper without sacrificing too much performance? can make it cheaper by getting an 80+ PSU instead of 80+ Bronze but would that make it too unreliable?

I would say the best way to make it cheaper is used

best way for bang/buck is to buy used, but your build is still solid

AMD Ryzen R7 1700 (3.8ghz) w/ NH-D14, EVGA RTX 2080 XC (stock), 4*4GB DDR4 3000MT/s RAM, Gigabyte AB350-Gaming-3 MB, CX750M PSU, 1.5TB SDD + 7TB HDD, Phanteks enthoo pro case

Get used server parts, much cheaper than anything else.

dont go with the rx 460 go with the gtx 1050 or 1050ti both of those cards smoke the rx 460

you could save money by going with a evga 80+ https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=psdc_1161760_t1_B00DZ6R9GE

if you can try going with an i3 6100 or pentium g4400 with a h110 mobo the performance on the amd chips is really bad and not worth considering

stick with the ssd its fine if you really need the storage badly go with a WD 1tb blue

See if you can fit all that on a $400 budget.

used parts is the only way to go here, get a used GTX 970, an I7 2600K and a decent motherboard and PSU used and get a 120GB SSD, a 1TB HDD and a cheap case

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

i would stray away from that as the sandy bridge stuff is really old and ipc wise it lags behind a lot

I genuinely want to see all those parts put in a partpicker list and have em all total $400 without rebates.

If used parts isn't your thing, the Intel equivalent is better at the same price.

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor  ($58.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard  ($53.99 @ Amazon)
Memory: Avexir Core Series 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR4-2400 Memory  ($36.99 @ Newegg)
Storage: A-Data Premier SP550 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive  ($38.74 @ OutletPC)
Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon RX 460 4GB WINDFORCE OC Video Card  ($119.99 @ Amazon) $89.99 after $30 rebate
Case: Deepcool TESSERACT SW ATX Mid Tower Case  ($39.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Power Supply: SeaSonic S12II 430W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply  ($49.99 @ Newegg)
Total: $398.68 - $30 rebate = ~$370

You can also go for a DIY cardboard case lol. Saves you $40 so you can afford a GTX 1050Ti.

overclocking a 2600K a coupple GHz makes it a solid CPU, even my locked I7 2600 im on now is pretty good tbh. and with a 970 it will preform really good in 1080p titles, i have a friend with this exact setup, a I7 2600K at 4.5GHz and a GTX 970, preforms well for him

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

i think you can go with the pentium and it will be even cheaper

$437 without rebates... that's what I thought.

This is why when you see budget youtube builds it's guaranteed the total amount is always ~$50 extra and the psu's in them are often mediocre.

the psu is not bad at all actually and if you went with the pentium it would be within the budget and im sure the pentium has better performance than the amd in terms of ipc, single core and gaming

It's not bad but not good either, so mediocre. I'm aware about the pentium being better, it's a given.

OP wanted to make it cheaper yet you mentioned the i3 and 1050Ti so I wanted to see you fit those in the budget - w/c wasn't possible, not even close.

Everyone was saying to go used. I want new because with used, you don't know what some 12 year old has done to it. I could go with the pentium but since it's skylake, I would have to use DDR4 and that is expensive because it is pretty new. I also would loose the crossfire from the integrated graphics to the dedicated. However, thanks for all the help. I also saw people telling me 1050 was better. Benchmarks do confirm that but it is also more expensive. I am still taking ideas if anyone has more. thanks.

With the pentium it'll be under 400 and I put a 1050 which beats a 460

ddr4 is almost the same price as ddr3 and is not that much more expensive plus im not sure you can crossfire the graphics to my knowledge becasue the athlon has no igpu. also i think the rx 460 is 110 or 100 and the 1050 is a similar price with more performance but im not sure depending on where you live. black friday is coming up so you should be able to fit those parts in your build with the sales.

DDR4 is same price as DDR3 nowadays. 1050's are just $109.

X4 845 has no iGPU and you can only crossfire those with same GCN iteration like ex. A10-7850K + R7 250

So I decided that instead of cheaping out, I am going to get a job and get not only a really nice PC but also some proper gaming gear. You can see it at http://pcpartpicker.com/list/BnBx2R. I should be able to have the PC I have always wanted (that PC) with the money I earn from working at Culver's. Not sure about the case though so if you know any cool ones, let me know.
