Microsoft blames Activision for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remaster multiplayer shenanigans AND Offers Refunds!

Microsoft is now officially responding to the numerous complaints about Activation's new PC cross platform multiplayer game. Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered

 

Microsoft is offering Windows Store users a complete refund! This is new for Microsoft since they don't normally offer refunds and it means shit got real.

 

And they've made a statement which indirectly blames Activision.......

 

This is what a Microsoft spokesperson had to say:

We support cross-play between devices and platforms for partners who want to enable it.

 

AND to make it worse, Xbox and PC won't be playing with each other. There is practically no reason to buy the Windows Store version.

 

If you are not satisfied as a customer, Microsoft will allow you a full refund of the Windows Store version of the game if you bought it!

It won't feature any form of cross-play between console and PC

It won't feature any form of cross-play between Windows Store UWP and other PC versions

You can play the campaign offline

Opinion: I was skeptical about buying the Call Of Duty: Infinite warfare but now I know for certain that my money would be better spent on Battlefield 1.

From what I've read it seems that activision just used Steam's & Microsoft own multiplayer code and didn't bother creating their own which could of easily supported cross play.

Not only that. But there's no Xbox Play Anywhere OR Cross platform play with Xbox and PC.

So the people on PC Windows Store can't play with Xbox? Why did Infinity Ward bother releasing the game on Windows Store then?

Neither should their be, adding PC & XB FPS gamers in the same games as each other would cause chaos with PC players pwning everything else and Console gamers throwing around hackusations like the NFLs best quarterback.

Xbox Play Anywhere should have been there. FYI, It's a feature where If I hypothetically bought it on an Xbox, I could also play on PC.

Thought CoD was notorious for hackers on consoles? Last I played was MW2 on Xbox, and I always found it funny to join a game with unlimited ammo/no reload. Though, I'm sure it wouldn't cause a major problem in development to add a toggle to each platform to join cross platform lobbies. Doesn't Rocket League do it like this as well?

Well, most PC (the vocal ones at least) gamers are xenophobic feel themselves superior to console although either player could be better.

You can, I believe, the issue is that the Xbox/UWP version is that they don't crossplay between themselves and Steam.

they should Support cross Play IMO same with Gears 4  which is only Cross with campaign and co-op horde mode. Maybe have stricter rules like everyone has to use the xbox one controller and enforce hacking and aimbots better.  But the Mouse Vs controller isnt as big as a deal as many think theres more to games then just straight up aiming 

 

Also could allow keyboard and mouse with XBO aswell not like thats hard to implement

Nope. It's been tested and Xbox and PC players don't play with each other.

 

And the issue with Windows Store and Steam was Activision/Infinity Ward choosing to be lazy.

Just look at steam stats for COD:RM, only 5k max people playing.
I see this rip off if they will continue selling it along COD:infinite Warfare.

Well on the Xbox 360 and PS3 have the hackers since those consoles can be modded. But, I believe so far the Xbox One and PS4 hasn't been exploited yet. I play on the Xbox One and PC and so far no hackers on Xbox One.

Blizzard should be separate in the first place as they develop as well as publish while Activision just publishes.

Hold up, you were actually thinking about buying a COD game for multiplayer? Lol the whole game (except zombies) is the same thing as the last, bad campaign, extremely repetitive multiplayer, large community of irritating kids, something called camping+traps (claymore, bouncing Betty, shock thing). 

 

The only good good thing to COD is zombies, they make interesting new improvements through each game and it's dlc is actually worthwhile.

 

and battlefield 1 is far superior as far as multiplayer and campaign is a nice improvement over COD's. Honestly there shouldn't have been a question wether or not you should be COD over bf1 lol

Don't know why anyone would think Xbox and PC would have cross play when Microsoft has said they wouldn't do that due to keyboard and mouse having an unfair advantage..... Such a shame that the best COD since Ghosts has to of had so much hate and now this.
