It's fine, just be careful from who you buy it from.

Kind of depends on what card it is. Some cards are quite likely to have been sitting in a folding rig, especially if the seller has multiple cards listed.

Just make sure you read the description and condition carefully. I sell my cards on eBay when I upgrade, so at the very least not all sellers are bad.

Well I was looking on upgrading my GTX 960 4gb and I was hoping Ebay is a cheaper alternative.

Maybe try checking Amazon's used listings. Can be a bit safer than eBay. Or get a 1060 6GB if you can afford it

FOr 1080p, definetely. Close to 80% higher performance than a 960, and like 10-15% more than 970. Only ~%5 slower than a 980

I upgraded from an r9 380 4gb to the EVGA SC 1060 6gb and it was a pretty amazing difference.

The cooling is excellent, performance is great and it's $259 usd.

When buying from ebay it all comes down to the seller more than anything, use someone that has high feedback (generally a safe option but might be abit more expensive) and alot of actual info in their description, rather than rambling on about random c**p

I think MSI bc having the dual-fan cooler will help in OCing and overall clocks as it will run a lot cooler

Yes, if you buy it from a reputable seller, my suggestion is to buy from sellers that are actual businesses, even better if they have a physical store, and have sold hundreds of of items, and good feedback. Don't buy cards labeled "parts or not working" and think that it is a simple thing to fix, just assume that they are dead. Also make sure that they post pictures of the card from every angle to make sure you don't see any damage.

Amazon's used section is as safe as ebay's sellers, If anything ebay may be safer for buying stuff because they provide pictures of the actual product, you are buying, and will settle in favor of the buyer for a overwhelming majority of disputes that happen.

Oh okay cool cause I saw a couple cards that seemed to good to be true, it was a 980 for 50 but it had a lot of good feedback and pics, let me provide a link

With auctions the price will always jump up, especially last second, with 6+ days left on that one it will jump up fast.

Oh well I got really excited cause I thought that would be a good card my only issue is that if I get that 980 even the 1060 is newer, that the 1060 would come out on top.

so 1060 or 980 in sli?

I'd actually consider the 1060 6GB to be equal to a 980 (or just slightly less). The 1060 uses a lot less power though. SLI 980 would give better performance, but your power bill is going to go up.

I bought a used gigabyte card (980 Ti - G1 Gaming) for 350 because the 1070s were going for some overpriced amount (sold out at the time) and it looked like brand new to me. It's been working great so far.

Bought from eBay and Amazon. All the cards in currently running are used and 2 of the water blocks on them. I buy new when a new card comes out. Just so I can return it when it lets me down.
