It's here... the new geforce experience...

And.. It requires you to register it.

It's new to the gamma version, there was no requirement on the last major version. It just allowed access to certain functionality, such as game streaming.

Not everyone runs beta drivers or software.

I didn't get it until last week, as when it updated on all of my computers it fucked up and removed GFE.

muh specs

Gaming and HTPC (reparations)- ASUS 1080, MSI X99A SLI Plus, 5820k- 4.5GHz @ 1.25v, asetek based 360mm AIO, RM 1000x, 16GB memory, 750D with front USB 2.0 replaced with 3.0  ports, 2 250GB 850 EVOs in Raid 0 (why not, only has games on it), some hard drives

Screens- Acer preditor XB241H (1080p, 144Hz Gsync), LG 1080p ultrawide, (all mounted) directly wired to TV in other room

Stuff- k70 with reds, steel series rival, g13, full desk covering mouse mat

All parts black

Workstation(desk)- 3770k, 970 reference, 16GB of some crucial memory, a motherboard of some kind I don't remember, Micomsoft SC-512N1-L/DVI, CM Storm Trooper (It's got a handle, can you handle that?), 240mm Asetek based AIO, Crucial M550 256GB (upgrade soon), some hard drives, disc drives, and hot swap bays

Screens- 3  ASUS VN248H-P IPS 1080p screens mounted on a stand, some old tv on the wall above it.

Stuff- Epicgear defiant (solderless swappable switches), g600, moutned mic and other stuff.

Laptop docking area- 2 1440p korean monitors mounted, one AHVA matte, one samsung PLS gloss (very annoying, yes). Trashy Razer blackwidow chroma...I mean like the J key doesn't click anymore. I got a model M i use on it to, but its time for a new keyboard. Some edgy Utechsmart mouse similar to g600. Hooked to laptop dock for both of my dell precision laptops. (not only docking area)

Shelf- i7-2600 non-k (has vt-d), 380t, some ASUS sandy itx board, intel quad nic. Currently hosts shared files, setting up as pfsense box in VM. Also acts as spare gaming PC with a 580 or whatever someone brings. Hooked into laptop dock area via usb switch

I uninstalled GeForce Experience yesterday because I updated my drivers. So I went and did it manually and unchecked GFE. Shame because I kind if like dit and shadowplay was really nice. I didn't want to make yet another account for something though.

Not everyone run GFE, your point? Nvidia already announced about this many months ago and it's there ever since they released Beta GFE 3. I personally uninstall GFE because it's bloated and simply use XBOX DVR which work nicely for 1080p60 recording and perform just as good as ShadowPlayShare without the awkward UI.

Only thing I use GFE/Shadowplay for is the recording of things that happened.

I don't feel like recording all the time in case something cool/funny pops up.

Easy just to hit Alt-F10 and save everything that happened in the last minute.

Haven't really heard of anything else that is capable of that.

Only reason I'm sticking with Nvidia at all at the moment...

I make bad life decisions.

yah I remember the huge controversy over it, and it's been many months, perhaps intentionally to let the outrage die down some before they forced people to do it. The important part, if I remember right, is having an account/gmail email will be a requirement to get anything but WHQL drivers eventually.

I personally am not outraged, I just thing it's stupid.

More people will run GFE for the automated update utility and optimization capabilities than uninstall a fairly resource light program. Of those people, significantly less are going to run beta versions. Beta still has a connotation of high risk, and there is little benefit to most consumers.

NVidia could have announced this years ago, and reiterated it every single hour since, doesn't change the fact that not many users are going to find out until it happens. It's not like NVidia sent out notification through the app, or users keep up with articles on the web.

Saying GFE is bloated compared to Xbox DVR is like saying a semi is more fuel efficient than a Prius. It just isn't true. There isn't much to say about Xbox DVR's UI vs GFE's either, they both are basic and straight forward. GFE Share is more capable, it supports live streaming, and local recording isn't limited to 2 hours per recording.

yes and no. Before you needed an account only if you didnt have the software installed already. now you ALWAYS need an account. Old users are forced to update to the new version regardless if they want to or not (Allyn Malventano, PCPerspective podcast from a few weeks ago)

Locked. This isn't really news at all.
