I just grabbed that one to give him an idea. There's plenty more 1060 options with better coolers.

I'd get a 1060.

 

I feel that AMD cards just aren't as good. They also run hotter, and they're older than the 1060. The 1060 is as new as it gets.

Personal opinion  I would say either the fury or the 1060. The fury does run hotter than most cards since it's not water cooled like its big brother, and I think the 1060 will overclock slightly better. But In reality, it's 1080p. Either card will do plenty of work

I think Ill go for the fury. After looking at reviews it always beats the 980 and has an amazing 2 fan cooler on it that looks baller. And after OCing is about as good as a fury x, and I might try unlocking it

Look up DX12 support also. Since the 1060 is a more recent card it might have better DX12 support. I can't say either way though

390 beats the 1060 at dx12. GCN 1.3 beasted DX12

I would recommend a GTX1060 6GB since you already have a monitor. Hands down that's it and that's all. You can read the articles in my signature for info. If you have further questions, do not hesitate to ask me.

Fury by a long shot. Considerably faster than both RX 480 and GTX 1060; should last for a long time while enjoying the DX12 advantage AMD has currently.

Surprised Furys are so cheap to get nowadays.
