i really wonder if it's true or just more clickbait

the quotations could be correct from "viewers" but I'd bet my pants that no actual factchecking to see if indeed these people had unwittingly drilled into their phones.

I saw that article. I am convinced that the author is only reporting that people are drilling holes in them becuase people claimed to be. I would be blown away if anyone was actually dumb enough to legitimately do this. I think most people just posted troll comments on the YouTube video. Kinda like the whole "instructions on clear" meme.

It's times like these that I really wonder why people are stupid. The youtuber is an idiot for thinking that people wouldn't try his "tutorial" and viewers are idiots for thinking that a 3.5mm jack is just a hole.

Thats what people get for not using their brain. The guy in the video drilled the hole, "plugged" in his earphones and played a music. The sound was clearly coming out of the speakers. But sheep be sheep :)

I don't know man... I think a lot of comments are fake (like the ones quoted in the article), but I wouldn't be surprised if some people actually tried this. Have you not seen Celaeon? He calls up people streaming on twitch, tells them that their computer/console is broken and then make them do things like pour milk into their routers, microwave their batteries, spread butter on their keybords and so on.

People are really gullible.
