The Crew 60FPS but stutters GTX 680?

CAPCOM UK

I have i7 2600k at 4.7 so i know it's not my CPU. GTX 680 only get's to 1.8GB usage so it can't be Vram?

I don't run AA or HBAO+ and i get 60FPS solid.

When it stutters there is no frame rate drop?

Pentium IV @ 4.4ghz , 8GB DDR2, R9 380 4GB, 2560x1440p monitor.

The game itself stutters. My frame rate is consistent but it'll stutter every now and then. Happens less when you're out in the country though.

did you disable VSYNC?

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

with VSYNC you get stutters if the GPU cant sustain 60 fps

turn it off and see how it goes

It sustains 60 so this is not the issue.

there are times where it will drop below 60fps

use the fps counter and see for yourself

i have the game as well

He ask's due to it either helping or clamping performance also ive noticed since recent updates my 660Ti has gone very wierd on later titles such as division and possible crew when i download it so u've either got same problem i have or your it just as simple as tweaking ur control pannel or disabling vsync either way work a try

i have the game as well

I have FPS counter on at all time and it never drops because i don't play with silly settings.

But i can try syncing with the NV control panel.

Dude if you are not even trying what @dragoon20005 recommended (which is the right thing to do btw) then don't come here to ask for advice.

vsync=lag

no vsync=tearing

chose your poison.

Actually V Sync can cause lag, thats why Freesync and Gsync are the future replacements of it

Turning VSync off can result in a smoother experience, but it can introduce screen tearing

sometimes things work better with it off, some work better with it on but VSync always introduces some sort of lag, normally input lag

Input lag caused by vsync is because frames are held back, removed from displaying in order to keep the framerate at 60fps, that means that that there could be a tiny fragment of time when the game displays a frame different to how you are controlling it

clearly me, Linus, Nvidia, AMD and the whole internet are making vsync lag up!

Yeah a couple of games Vsync causes lag so it must lag in every game. Much wow very logic.

No....

They ARE saying THIS GAME does.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

Far as ive seen vsync being set to adaptive works quite well havnt seen a performance hit only usual faster mouse movement so all i had to do was drop my sensitivity some more and that its never say it causes lag cuz its a load of bull if anything it helps especially on lower end cards anyway ( This is in my experience using a 660Ti so may not be the same for everyone ofc )

so.. to add more salt to @CAPCOM UK 's dinnerparty:

i vsync EVERYTHING, and what you have been so self-centeredly been denying, everyone in this thread is right. especially if the performance is "on edge" in a specific scene (as in, you wouldnt get much more than 60fps in said scene) it is very possible for singular frames to take significantly longer to render, causing a quite visible stutter, without really impacting the fps counter itself. that is also why you dont see a frame drop.

A slow or a slowly failing hard drive can also cause stuttering, try installing the game on an SSD if turning off Vsync does not fix the issue.
