I actually think the removal of the 3.5mm jack is done purely to prepare the market for it. This means by the time Apple's real generational leap comes in 2017 with no home button and no 3.5mm jack there will already be an ecosystem of lighting based products and they'll be able to fit in a bigger rectangular battery.

and no charging port? or charging port on the side? and if its a future thing then just wait until then to remove the jack instead of doing it now with no benefit. and in fact just never remove it and make a thicker phone with a bigger battery

im not a fucking idiot. i have been to the other side. the grass aint greener. its patchy, brown and still waiting to get upgraded. i use apple because there phones work. they get updated when there ment to and get supported long after there release. more than ca be said about android phones.

Possibility of using pogo pins on the exterior instead of lightning. But yes you're correct in that the lightning port would still be in the way though moving it to the edge would work for extending the battery.

 

My point still stands and using the removal of the jack to kickstart the ecosystem, for example in 2012 they introduced retina screens despite the fact that the hardware really wasn't up to it. This meant that by the time retina was moved to more mainstream products the ecosystem was there already.

The connector on the bottom of that phone looks too big to be Lightning,  maybe it's Type-C? Hopefully...

lol forced onto to unwanted services. cloud storage is never unwanted. its saved my ass a few times. just buy the bigger phone size.
