As mentioned above, market share doesn't mean usage share. Just like how Google earns more revenue from iOS despite its smaller user base. 

 

iOS also has only a few hardware models and a fairly small variation of specs and software, compared to the dizzying array of options available for Android. So a developer likely finds it easier to release an app on iOS first, especially if he has limited resources, because there is less work involved and people are in general more willing to spend on iOS.

Actually I've found in personal experience that people are less willing to spend money on IOS.

Judge a product on its own merits AND the company that made it.

Probably a monetized lobby as incentive for them to develop only on iOS. 

There are also development teams which don't know how to code outside apple's world. I have a friend in internship in such a place. They have like no clue as to how to develop an app for android and windows phone, and they are still hung up on the idea that there are more iOS devices out there.

Denial? Stupidity? Or lobby? We'll probably never know.

Well anything with over 10% is starting to be interested by developers. But, aside from this, Apple users do spend a lot more money over Android users.

This is why many devs focuses on iPhone first, still. Then follow up with Android release... although the Android marketshare is so huge now, that this is changing.

Apple like a lot of tech companies are starting to make the transition to a services platform, which the high app store sales bolster. Being a stock owner it's good for me, the market likes it.

Apple has multiple legitimate competitors that offer a similar if not better experience. I like the iPhones and all but you can't really justify owning one when you have many different phones across the pond that are better than you in many ways.

Maybe they shouldn't have charged 1300$ for a laptop with one USB port. Maybe they shouldn't have charged 1500$ for the iMac with a 5400RPM HDD and integrated graphics. Maybe they shouldn't have charged 1000$ for the useless iPad Pro. Maybe you shouldn't have to sell your car to buy a Mac Pro. Maybe they shouldn't be removing the headphone jack from the IP7. Maybe people are finally sick of their shit.

 

Or it's more likely just a coincidence.

 

BTW, I'm not being a mindless Apple hater, I really like the iPhone and Macbook Pro. It's just that Apple has been a very dumb company for like the last year.

Makes sense. I work in a phone shop and our store has been selling double the amount of Galaxy devices vs Apple devices recently. Especially with the S7.

Maybe it's a self-fulfilling prophecy now. A game I played, Battleheart Legacy, was out on iOS for months before being released on Android. So it's little wonder the game would be more profitable on ios, since it received the lion's share of promotion and advertising. 

 

So now we have a virtuous cycle of good apps coming to iOS first, and people remaining on ios because they appreciate good apps and are willing to spend on them, which encourages more apps to be released for ios first. 

 

As someone deeply invested in the Apple ecosystem, I am not complaining. :P

I think one of the reasons that iPhone sales are dropping is that no one finds them interesting anymore. I don't know if you've heard about the iPhone 7, but supposedly it's not going to be much different than the 6S. Notable features include (based on rumours): Water resistance, 3D touch home button, no 3.5mm jack, larger camera hump, moved antenna bands.

 

No redesign, not a lot of interesting reasons to upgrade, when the iPhone 7 (or 6SE) is announced, I expect Apple's share to tank and only the most diehard Apple fanboys getting in line for this one

Everyone has some sort of apple product or another. Have an iPhone 5 which has been sitting in a drawer and an iPad which is also sitting in a drawer. There was going to be a point where they peaked. It was a matter of when than if.
