PSU Tier List [OLD]

Go to solution Solved by Spotty,

This is a legacy list. It is no longer being updated.

The new PSU Tier List can be found here:

If it's a semi-modular unit, then it's CXv3. The modular CX wasn't introduce until the previous generation CX in 2013.

The oldest of old CXs are T5s but those came out in 2010 so I don't expect any that were bought around that time to still be alive.

The CX 400 which was an one of the 1st CX's was a Seasonic S12II, I assuming they were getting rid of the VX 450 stock they had left over.

The only way I can think of is take a photo of it and have @quan289 identify the platform :P

If it's a semi modular one, it's definitely at least Rev. 2.0

My understanding is CX v1 is not certified with the exception of the 400W, v2 is 80+ White, v3 is 80+ Bronze.

To be honest I'm not sure how old my unit is (CX600 PSU)... I got it like 3.5 years ago and it was used already (I bought a whole PC for 400 cad), but it still works fine.

@EDIT

After getting that P2 750W I know one thing... I will never buy a cheap PSU ever again. (just wanted to add to the topic of this new 50 cad psu)

A Corsair CX is fine for a  $400CAD computer

An EVGA P2 is overkill, I am hoping you upgraded your previously $400CAD computer because that is crazy.

Relax, it was 400 cad 3 years ago and I got this:

Intel i5 2500k

Asus P8Z77-V LK
Corsair Vengeance 8GB

XFX Double D Radeon HD 7770 (I sold it for 70 cad and got gtx wf 770)

Corsair CX600 600W (my brother has it now)

NZXT lexa s

I'm pretty sure it was a good  deal ;) and I got p2 750w for 70 cad ^^ + 780ti dc2 for 180. I was able to OC my 2500k to 4.5Ghz on 212 Evo and OC my 780ti to 1219/7800MHz. P2 was not an overkill IMHO.

Australia is fairly priced compared with other countries, just people often don't take into account tax.

EVGA G2 750W is $105 USD / 0.76 (Converting to AUD) = 138.15

138.15 * 1.1 (Tax is included in Australian Prices) = $152 AUD, actual cost is $155AUD

It's 170 cad here with tax. P2 750W has 10 years warranty for the first owner with proof of purchase, but without it or as a second hand owner you have 3 years warranty from the moment they shipped it. Which is still enough for me.
