according to leaks the titan ultra or whatever its called will have more cores than the ultra and will be cheaper than $1k to compete with the r9 290x
and most likeley will use 2 8 pins to power it
man im afraid i buy the r9 290x and the ultra got reeased for around the same price and its faster and better in everything

I hope your right and these leaked Benchmarks are not a lie. It is awesome for consumer and the market for AMD to put out high end Tech. It give consumers an awesome alternative to Nvidia's, what we can all admit is extremely overpriced, gtx Titian. So more people can have super high end. Its great for the market because now Nividia will have to both push performance and lower price, this is how it should be unlike with the 7000 series, which had no big single GPU cards competitors. So I am supper stoked.

TechpowerUp was the source of the benchmark leak along with a few other what seems to me are individuals from AMD. That's what I have gathered from the articles I've read. But I wouldn't be surprised if this was a "planed leak" by AMD. They probably let some sources "leak" info to stir up hype which it clearly has. (This also means they might be a bit embellished) . Oh and the pricing leak comes from some guys looking through the HTLM over on Newegg.

You know what I wouldn't be surprised if the 290X didn't have as good compute performance as titian. But then again with the consumer grade cards of HD7000 series handily beating cards from gtx 600 and gtx 700 series in compute performance along with AMDs bulldozer and piledriver architecture pushing towards floating point operations being done on the GPU, I also wouldn't be surprised to hear AMD was pushing compute performance on the R9 290X.

 

Its gonna be interesting to see this new line of GPUs being released. Its gonna be telling to see a trusted sight's benchmarks and seeing if they stack up with these benchmarks and seeing how they compare to the Nvidia competition.

r9-290 with 8 games (going by the 7990, we'll see) faster in general for 12.5% less cash...

the titan graphics card has just as many cores as the tesla k20x anyway. its just a 680 on a photocopier at +75%, if they made it anymore powerful noone would buy a 690 (a 680 x2)

if anything they will probably create a doubled up 680 solution like the 690 but on a single gpu die and price it £1000(and the nvidia fanboys will cream thier pants and proclaim that amd is finished and suck and so forth)

nvidia does a re-brand towards the end of the year in november (as we've seen with the 480-580 and the 680-770) and then a year and 5 months (give or take) later it does a die shrink and a new architecture around april/may which would be around april/may 2015 (as we saw when the 580 changed to 680, 40nm became 28nm and the architecture changed from 512:64:48 to 1536:128:32)

That's their branding. HOWEVER, it's not NVIDIA branded "Ultra". He meand a Titan Ultra that NVIDIA themselves brand.

There are no benchmarks for the Titan Ultra because it doesn't exist yet. If the titan is going to have a sucessor, it is not going to be 28nm.
