Enter the RX 480 AIB Cards

tsk

Do you guys think the orange accents on the Gigabyte card (not the logo, ofc that is RGB) are stickers or also RGB lights?

Oh snap! This site claims the Powercolor Devil will have a base clock of 1336Mhz, and boost of 1.4Ghz!

Further confirmation here http://wccftech.com/powercolor-rx-480-devil-clock-speeds-leak/

I don't understand why they put the Star of David on it though. Surely that should be a pentagram? xD

It's the Seal of Solomon, a signet ring gifted from God to King Solomon to allow him to capture and control demons.

So the Seal being on the card represents a trapped Demon being controlled. Which is the high overclock, and beefy cooling releasing its rage aka heat :P

Guys, us in East Asia don't really get the cultural significance :P We just think it's a cool thing. You guys see that in plenty of our animes, yes?

I don't think anybody does. I'm from the UK. Never would have guessed this lol. I think this will confuse a lot of people tbh. Not so sure I'm comfortable with it in my machine either.

:o Sounds quite serious. Why not? Okay, but I didn't grow up in a christian/catholic culture, so I don't really get it.

no extreme 8+6 or 8+8 pin models for ln2 from msi or galax ?:|

It would be shocking to see an extreme AMD card from Galax since they only make Nvidia cards xD

Why people selling any AMD derived product aren't aware of any marketing principles like... don't let the concurrence release their cards without communicating yourself about your product...

That's hurting their sales so much, it's damn stupid knowing they should release their cards the same day, since they'll release it the same week anyway

So far going by what OcUK in the UK says:

Sapphire Nitro cards 5th August
Asus "mid" August

Powercolor "mid-end" next week.

Looks like it varies on country, no specific dates but you're looking between the 20th of July and mid next month.

I'm pretty sure that will be bullshit...

1.4 boost clock and 1336Mhz base? naaa..

You can see the trend, no brand is doing more than 1330/1340mhz max.

As much as their Devil models are overclocking beasts I find hard to believe they found a magic trick that no one else knows. :D

A cooler that's more than twice the size of the closest Rival Sapphire? Seems about right.

But its a GPU limitation.

I guess you seen online people having huge coolers on the card and still couldn't go much more than 1400Mhz, and this with much higher voltage, which is something any brand won't do. They might increase a bit the voltage, but not too much.

That's what custom PCB's with much better power management and regulation are for.

You statement is like comparing a stock GTX 980 to a 980 Kingpin/FTW edition.

That's what aftermarket cards are for, and why some are more expensive than the rest, be it custom PCB, binned GPUs, or both with vastly better cooling solutions.

True, but from what I've seen and I can tell from the available info, is that no brand will be anywhere near 1400mhz.

You can quote me on that once all the brands come up with their cards.

The GPU has a power leakage too high to be reliable over the long terms if its clocked that high and that's not just something brands can go around.

Review of the Asus strix card is out; https://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/ASUS/RX_480_STRIX_OC/
The cooler is the exact same from the 1080, slapped on this card.
1355MHz OC, not that impressive but expected.

PCB shot that you all love:

ASUS never made great AMD cards.

The nitro, devil, and Gaming X is where it's at

So the Sapphire card is now official, 1342MHz boost clock, available in both 4GB and 8GB versions, priced at 220$ and 269$ respectively.
The gigabyte card will also come in 4GB flavor.
