found an awesome deal for a PC with an I7 860, can it run CS:GO? probably can just making sure, i need answers quick if i want it because its a freaking steal right now :D

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

I would say a toaster could run CS:GO, but that processor should be able to run it even better.

Thy hath sinneth, and in thy life thou hast fallen to an unholy, unspeakable level of humanity. Thou hast given into your basest needs. And suffered many years under thine Satan-box. However, if thine be willing, as thy hast show yourself to be, thy can ascendeth into thy glorious fold of the glorious church. Go well, my brother, may your temps be low and your frames high. ~ MrDynamicMan

Did you mention anything about FX 9590? i don't see it either, should i just report him for being a troll? ok done.

Good God, someone mentioned a toaster running CS:GO, I made a joke about the 9590 actually being a toaster. Not the first time I've made that joke, certainly won't be the last. Some of you (and I'm not necessarily referring to you, @hex4) need to take a skin sample and make sure that it's of a safe thickness level.

Yes, an i7-860 will more than suffice for CS:GO, especially if paired with a discrete GPU. Any discrete GPU. In fact, a piece of cardboard with "I AM A GPU" written on it and shoved into a PCIe x16 slot might be able to handle it.

I apologize for starting yet another battle royale between people incapable of understanding humor. AMD processors have use cases in which they shine, so do Intel. AMD has also put out utter crap like the 9590, just as Intel put its name on the Pentium D and, well, every Atom ever released.

I enjoy buying junk and sinking more money than it's worth into it to make it less junk.

THANK YOU.

it was a good joke now can people just leve it at that, the CPU is enough for CS:GO

My old i7-920 PC had a reference (or just a blower?) GTX260 in it. The card can still handle things like Skyrim at 1080p on ultra, although you have to turn the details down a bit in caves. I think you're ok with it on CS:GO. I wouldn't throw Witcher 3 at it, but for older or less demanding games it's still perfectly good.

So yeah, i7 860, best bet unless you want to go to Haswell or Skylake, don't waste cash on AMD right now, wait for ZEN if you really must.

well its CS:GO its not that demanding, prople were saying they were able to run medium settings with a 8800GT so i think a 260 will be pretty fine, i looked it up and its basically doubble the preformance of a 8800GT xD
