Goodbye 980Ti

Don't get me wrong the 980ti is still a freaking beast of a card and will be for a long time. I just wanted an upgrade to two 1080's for some VR and stuff:)

They havnt even been a benchmark of these cards ... the performance gain may be big or small, I would rather wait until some legit benchmark are out.

no need to be a douche, friend. just showing you that whatever you buy there's always going to be something better. I didn't enjoy the look of the card regardless, so I'll buy a better looking, air cooled one anyway. :)

This seems insane to me. Very rarely is the next generation a worthwhile upgrade for the previous within the same price bracket (and almost never in a cheaper price bracket). To sell before we've even seen real benchmarks is just begging for disappointment and regret.

I have a spare 980ti so I have a fallback:)

Time to sell your Maxwell cards! Good freaking luck! I just sold my 980Ti for only $400 :(

Lord WHY?

What is with the rush to throw away good cards and upgrade?

Frankly, almost no one running a 970 or 980 should be looking to upgrade.  You can skip this generation and wait for the 2xxx series cards in a year or so.

Some folks just have to have the latest and greatest.  Nothing wrong with that provided it's within means.

Sure, I understand that...  but I doubt that is the majority of the cases...

Too many posts from people saying, "will my AMD xxx or Intel XXX bottleneck a 1080, or will my 980 be ok?  I don't have the money to buy both a new CPU and the new GPU.

For pete's sake, if you're limited on funds and you have a 980 now, you shouldn't even be thinking about a new GPU for a few years.

I'll buy one because I have to, but I'm not going to put it into my personal computer.  I've got a 980 TI there and it isn't going anywhere for a few years.  I'll sell the 1070 and 1080 once I'm done with them, I imagine someone will want them. :)
