some1 talk me out of buying a new GPU

I know new gpus are coming soon but i recently upgraded to skylake and matx and my custom watercooled 290x doesnt fit in my case and im using a 570 (old card) and sold the 290x.... living with a 2012 gpu is hurting my soul however i know if i wait it will be worth it... but at the same time i just got payed and i could have it NOWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW 

 

this isnt really a question just someone confirm that im stupid for wanting to upgrade

lol ikr... i upgraded my system just to temporarily down grade it  however it is much cooler running than my old fx piece of shit... so i cant wait to get a new GPU in this bish

dont tempt me.... the case has room for any card, its just MATX.... the 290x didnt fit because i had an AIO cpu cooler attached to it (hyper 212 got in the way of mounting it :()

so im planning to get a full sized 1080/1070 card cuz idk nvidia seems like the better choice these days.

I say wait for the new cards , AMD well make good come back which should make Nvidia price their products more competitively, also Nvidias card so far suffer in DX12 when async is involved and the next gen cards might help with that. Also since the new cards are gonna be on 14-16nm you well save on power as well as heat if that's of any concern to you.

I bought a $340 970 for $279 NEW from Newegg with a free copy of Division. Plan on selling it for $275 upon Pascal release for $300 and telling people, "it was valued at $340 at the time of purchase, only used for 2-3 months (depends on Pascal release date), never overclocked." Shouldn't have a problem with it considering the 970 is the lowest card able to run VR and it was announced over 90% of computer owners can't run VR. Therefor it would be an upgrade for very many people.. making resell easier

And I think the new titan is gonna come out next year, this year's pascal cards are the new"970/980" w8 for the Tis to come out and get the big boy!

Have a look at this video. After I watched it, I decided to wait and stick with my R9 280X for another year or two.

If you wait two months you will get twice the performance for similar price when those cards released. Todays cards are 2 years old designs, they are entirely obsolete and due to be replaced in June.

I think you should wait for Pascal or Polaris! (also do not just go buy Pascal look up benchmarks and tests, not to mention if you use Windows 10 you really want a AMD card because they seem to win there at this very point in time...)
