I personally use the ASUS Turbo 970. Its a strong card that has handled all my 1440 Gaming so far at an easy 60 fps.

Get the G1, it has blue LEDs.

The Windforce 3x is basically just a cooler. No backplate, no LEDs.

The sapphire r9 390 is a better card for the same price,

but yes in dx11 the 970 is a fine card.

in dx12 the 390 is far... far faster.

i have the Gigabyte G1 gaming GTX 970 and it overclocks like a beast and runs awesome and just looks epic so i would go for that instead :D

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

I've got one, I decided it wasn't worth the extra 30 quid (at the time I bought mine) for the G1. It overclocks north of 1500mhz and stays both cool and quiet (after some fiddling with the fan curve). However, the SK Hynix memory is crap, it's given all it's got at +300mhz.

Overall it's a good card, but these days I'd buy an R9 390 instead; I have no need for nvidia specific features and the 390 is an overall better card for the same money.

how could you suggest a red card in a blue themes build!

@Perfx

jk, get an MSI R9 390 and spray paint it

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

i've seen one of these at the hardware store earlier this week, running the witcher.

its actually not as ugly as it looks on pictures, and was surprisingly quiet. it looked pretty paint-friendly as well.

I was mostly going for the card in mentioned because of the white accents (i'm going for  white PC build) and decided to go with that one
