What classics do I NEED to play?

I'm a long time gamer, but just switched over to PC a few months ago. What PC exclusives (primarily old games, I know about the new ones) do you think I need to play? I've heard about things like Deus Ex and Thief, what else is there?

Diablo II + Lord of Destruction, Age of Empires II, Heroes of Might and Magic III-V, Quake 3 Arena, Gothic Series (Don't play the 4th one it sucks), Baldur's Gate, GTA 3 + Vice City + San Andreas. Most of them are pretty old but GOLD!

Also Monkey Island,Civilization series.

Good choices and any of the old Lucas Arts adventure games.  you ever play Grim Fandango i thought that was amazing back in the day lol

The Wing Commander games are amazing, and I'd definitely recommend them.
