Do you think it is worth buying 50 shares for about 100 USD and selling before ZEN comes out?

Depends how much $500 is worth to you.

Is that money you can't afford to throw away? Then don't do it.

stock usually goes up when something new is announced and then dwindles within a few days.

Don't buy failing stock. AMD is junk stock. Buying British bank stocks before the EU referendum then selling after is a good idea I reckon, that's what I'm doing.

 

Also if AMD thought that their stock was going to go up then they would be buying it back. It's not artificially low at the moment, it's just low in general.

Technology stocks aren't usually a good idea, especially when you're speculating so heavily

 

Just get apple stock or something, it's guaranteed to keep moving up

It will probably hike up, and if it isn't a failure will stay up, but if it is a disappointment it will crash back to "normal" levels.

well , amd stocks are at their lowest . Even if polaris/ zen are failures , the hype will have been enough for you to make a profit by selling most of them before they are released ( and sell the rest at launch)

as always investing is very risky but if you go back about 16 years ago in may of 2000 AMD stock was Booming at around 92.56 a share.

 

I did some math if in October of 99' you were to buy 100 shares of AMD stock at $18.56 a share. that would cost you 1,856 then in may of 00' AMD stock was 92.25 a share so if you sold 100 shares then you would get $9,225 leaving you with $7,369 profit. if you were to buy 100 shares today it would cost you $201 and if a share become $92.25 again you will have $9,024

I doubt that will happen maybe it will get to 2.50 or 3$ when ZEN comes out then go back down.

seems somewhat risky but since its so cheap and zen could possibly revive AMD, u might see a huge return on your investment in the next year.  Then again Zen could be a complete failure.

I bought AMD stock on a practice stock market (based off real one but with fake money). When I bought it, it was really low and I went from $10,000 to $16,000 in 2 weeks
