Wierd internet problems

For about two weeks now I have been having weird internet problems. I say that they are weird because I am getting descent download and upload speeds, but I still have to reload pages multiple times to get them to work.  my current ISP is Comcast and my family is paying for around 75mb download and At the moment I am getting:

ping: 18ms

down: 11.28

up: 12.20

The Speeds are not really my problem although its not what we are paying for (I think this is just Comcast being back and or my Ethernet over power line being bad). My real problem is that things just plain wont load half the time. In the case of YouTube the videos will load sometimes and other times they will just load the first couple of seconds. I have tried testing it on my phone as well as on my laptop and desktop and i am still having the problem. which mean its not the WiFi and its not my Ethernet over power line. My current idea is that my step dad has the modem/router plugged into a daisy chain of coax cables and splitters.

Could this be my problem or is it something else?

sounds kinda like high pacadge loss meaning you recive an answer from the server but its not relevant data/ corupted data. your network sounds like a mess so im guessing the data is getting "lost" there, its always best to have a direct conection to your router but a couple of switches should be fine, what your describing sounds like a nightmare tho

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

it is a nightmare, a big problem of this is that i have very little control over the internet because of my step dad, so its hard for me to test things in more detail. im not even aloud to run an either net cable out the window to my room

well check how much package loss you are getting and reply here because thats probably it, not sure what you can do but if you could get acces to the router settings you might be able to promote your computers priority, not sure if you can do that but worth a try :)

Try pinging a PC in your network from another PC in your network. IE Windows Key + R > CMD > Ping -n 50 192.168.1.2 while on 192.168.1.3 or what ever your IP scheme is. If you find the Powerline is the problem, check the coaxial you are running it over. What model power line are you using?

Also try setting your DNS to static. ISP DNS is known to be flakey. If the DNS request is delayed, that might explain why throughput is good, but pages delay. See here for GoogleDNS or pick your own. Also make sure you don't have DNS relay or cache enabled.

Last, check the signal levels of the modem/gateway. Usually you can access it by 192.168.100.1 or 192.168.0.1 depending on the model. What model router/gateway do you have?

Good advice overall, but methinks you got confused around this part: "If you find the Powerline is the problem, check the coaxial you are running it over."

Looking to buy GTX690, other multi-GPU cards, or single-slot graphics cards:
