lots of marketing, thats where most of your money goes

the rest goes into cheap build materials on most of their stuff

the k70 is definitely better than the chroma, this has been already discussed previously

Wrong subtopic. Razer makes decent products. They didn't wow me, but they work well and do the job just fine. I like my death adder chroma, I'd recommend it to most of my friends. I like my black widow as well, but it's sort of boring and I wish I did more research before buying that. In the future, if Razer makes more interesting products, I'd definitely consider buying from them. If not, I'll just get a Corsair keyboard or something, no biggie. Probably keep my mouse for a while because I like it and it fits my playing style.

I had a razer deathadder 3.5g for 3 years the two side button springs fell out and rattled around inside and they didnt work but i still like the shape more than my g502. I think they dont make products made to last but are good ergonomics and internals

They're not very comparable except for noise. They feel completely different. But I do like the MX Blues better myself. A lot more clicky

The design to me is very boring. It's not like corsair's industrial design and not as "gamery" as other brands like logitech. It looks like a keyboard somebody could design in a couple minutes. Also, there's no RGB and other color customization when I spent quite a bit of money on it.

I personally think they are overpriced and logitech is better. But that's just me. Lots of my friends have their mice, keyboards, and headsets.

Make sure to quote me or tag me when responding to me, or I might not know you replied! Examples:

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

I have no issue with Razer. I have a razer tarantula (gaming keyboard from 2005) still works, it's a dome and it's starting to show but hey. I also have a razer blackwidow ultimate, the original version with blue backlights. It was working perfectly fine until a cat made a glass of soda drop on it. gummed up the keys, I tried to fix it but I only managed to break it because I didnt have the proper tools to desolder. RIP. Would rebuy if it wasnt $220.  I bought the original for $90 + free shipping on sale at newegg. Nothing justifies an increase in price that steep in my opinion.

PS: as far as I'm concerned RGB backlighting is just a stupid gimmick to charge 100$ more then what it's worth.

i think the hate for razer is alittle unwarranted and people only do so cause its cool to hate on them bandwagon. I think their keyboards and mice aee mostly decent/okay. Nagas the best feeling mmo mice to me, while the deathadder is the best feeling mice overall to me. What you should stay away from however are their headphones and headsets. Those are the worst and if you wanna say marketing and what not yeap those products are undeniably guilty of beung soley/mostly that. The key boards and mice, not so much.

i've been a long time razer user. my first gaming peripheral was a razer diamondhead in 2004 and it still works! i moved onto an imperator briefly before deciding i wanted the extra keys on the naga epic which still works for the most part except a few quirks like my scroll wheel going all haywire and left click double clicking. then i recently built my desktop after many years of laptops and got a keyboard plus new mouse. keyboard blackwidow chroma and mouse is naga chroma 2016 release. i'm disappointed with the build quality of the new products. both i have had to RMA. the keyboard because certain keys did not have a sound response and the mouse because the side keyboard was loose and could be moved around. and so i scoured the internet for reviews/forums and its a recurring theme in recent years that razer's build quality and QC just isn't what it used to be. i think its time to change if razer doesnt up their game. my next purchases might just change to other brands but thats a ways down the road. i would've gotten the k70 but i got a good deal for the blackwidow chroma which i couldnt pass up

After having had quite a few Razer products, I've found that they pour way too much money into marketing in the detriment of proper QA.

Razer Synapse is a mess and it's making my keyboard (Lycosa Mirror) crash every 30 minutes, making me replug it to sort out the troubles. Since it's a membrane keyboard, there's no switches to go bad (per se), but the keycaps are horrible and have worn down to the point where they're just blue blobs instead of backlit letters.

Every Razer mouse I've ever had has died within a year of purchase due to bad switches or sensors.

The mouse pads are pretty good, I'll admit that (although their lifespan seems less than my current $15 A4Tech's)

The headsets/headphones aren't too much to write home about. I have a few colleagues that have different models and they've all failed in pretty much the same way (cable committed suicide in less than a year)

Not to mention the price of their gear, which is, more often than not, far more than the product is worth.

Razer isn't my first choice, but I can't ignore the fact that I still use my original Deathadder on my work computer, and it's still just as solid as the day it was new. It's easily my longest-lasting mouse by several years.
