Slow forums...

Ever since the upgrade the forums are noticeably slower than they used to be... They always were pretty slow but loading times are really long now...

 

Internet connection you say?

100Mbit up/down fiber in The Netherlands, I doubt that's the issue...

Same! The forums has been INCREDIBLY slow and my internet is fine

At the old forums it was blazing fast but now? it is unbearable

Yeah I noticed it to. I have high speeds at home so not much of a bother waiting a sec longer but away while on mobile or work, the site it  INCREDIBLY slow now.

 

Especially when I need to do something like mention or quote someone, it has to reload the page just to do the action! o.O

(btw how do we multiple quote on the new site???)

nah. even on the beta website it was quite slower. the forum just is slower.

Quotes and tagging in mobile is pretty buggy atm.

Nope. Forums are hosted in datacenter somewhere in US. Hence why old CoC had rule about obeying both US and Canadian laws.

 

In all. Slowness is due upgrade and server being under constant high load. This will be over as soon as all content from old site is done processing. Source: @Blade of Grass, @Windspeed36 and @colonel_mortis (yay tagging bugs).

You'd think converting a database happens on a single thread and that the forums are running on many, but I guess not huh...

When you think of size of single post which might contain quotes and spoilers. And then think how many posts these forums have. 7 million posts, if 1 million is converted per 24h, we should be done this weeks Sunday.

No, it's a server in the US I believe
