Not by much, not like they should.

they also use a lot less power, so you can save a ton of money on a power supply. If you water cool them, you can get about 10% more performance out of both of them. and they're cheaper than the 295x2

*sigh* It's called Crossfire on AMD's side. Also, one graphics card*, one GPU would indicate 2 processing units inside one die.

And with the cost of liquid cooling the Nanos you can get two 980ti's that will crush the two Nanos.

If you're in a budget get one 980ti now and start saving for a second.

If you're in a budget get one 980ti now and start saving for a second.

Like I said in an earlier post, he should either 2 R9 nano's, or wait a bit, and get 2 980ti'. The nanos will be cheaper. the 980s will preform better and have more vram

Nanos are a waste though, no excuse for a 500 dollar graphics card that stutters in a game like Just Cause 3. I'd get one 390x2 over two Nanos.

Depends on what res you're playing at. At 4k, nano's are not a good choice.

And Steve's right. You should really be taking the money from the second graphics card and using it to get a i7 and better components.

At 4k the Nanos tend to outperform other cards in it's class (when not thermal throttling) because A: Stupidly fast frame unload/load times and B: It's a fury, it would outperform a 390 according to logic.

But spending an extra 150 dollars to play fallout at a slightly higher FPS doesn't really make sense... In other games, the 6 core i7 does worse than the quad core i7

Fallout isn't alone and the problem of games being CPU demanding and wanting as many threads as possible is getting worse, not better. In a year your CPU may be more important in games that your GPU. Especially in DX12 titles.

The biggest thing that makes the 6700k an upgrade over the 4790k is DDR4 support. I'll take the two extra cores, quad channel memory support, and extra cache if I have the money for it. It's certainly a smarter investment than an overpriced PCIE SSD and Titan X or a third and fourth R9 390.

A system in the $2000 price range is never going to make sense price to performance. You're always picking off marginal gains for extra money at this kind of price point.
