My First Custom Watercooled PC - Post pics of your old, outdated gaming rig (gotta be at least 5 years old)

LinusTech

Sadly I dont have any pictures of it. But my first computer build was the following:

I386
256MB of ram. Yes SDRam.
20GB IDE 5400 RPM hard drive.
I even was awesome enough to have a 5.25" Floppy for it.

Ah, those were the days!

Codename: Project Stealth. See profile for specs.

Thermaltake Big Water kit + Tt GPU block.

*Edit, added photos of my old sexy modded MSI CD burner with an in-car lighting kit modded to show it off.

**Edit, I am a huge fan of silver cases, so i held onto that case for far too long. And it is still being used today as our ghetto steam box in our entertainment room. Photo taken today with an AMD A10 6600, GTX 460 in it.

Can a mod please remove all the non-watercooled rig photos people are spamming here. Some of you need to learn to read the thread.

My mistake thanks, Capt :)

The title doesn't say only water cooled rigs. It says old outdated gaming rigs.

My first build - 2003 vintage - AMD Athlon 1700 based system (I think).  Home made case window (yes...flames), homemade fan/light switches.  I'd do thing differently today.

Fair enough, title seems bit misleading then, Sorry my mistake.
In that case, Enjoy these oldie's. I have a large cork board hanging on my office wall with a ton of old parts I've bought over the years on it, these included.

IMG_2632_zpsbb2fa7be.jpg

My first PC was given to me by my dad from his work. I used it for basically music & Duke Nukem 1, 2 & 3D, Wacky Wheels(the original mario kart)

AMD Am486 DX4-100
IBM Motherboard/Case (unknown model numbers)
32Mb EDO IBM Ram
Creative Sound Blaster VIBER 16 4MB onboard ram, CT2940

But my first self bought/build PC is as follows.

Intel P3 1Ghz
512mb SD IBM SDRam 133Mhz
Gigabyte GA-6WMMC7 MicroATX Mobo
2x Magic 3D II's in SLI (2x Voodoo 2 12mb)
2x 30Gb IBM AT Fireball Plus AS Quantum's
Sound Blaster Live! (not pictured as i sold it)

Funny to see how different the style is, back then it was all about bright colours, UV reactive everything, LEDs everywhere and glossy plastic, very extravagant. Now it's all about elegance, clean cable management and tubing with individually sleeved cables and matching colour schemes, naked steel interior is considered unacceptable. I guess that's a testament to how the PC industry is maturing.

Mt very first build i did was about 7/8 years ago.

From what i can remember it had :

Thermaltake Armor

Enermax psu

AMD Athlon X2 4200+

Asus 7800GTX

2x74Gb WD Raptors

Samsung 19"

Z-Board

"Custom" things i did were the hole in the side for the Thermaltake Ruby Orb cooler. And a Zalman cooler for the 7800GTX.
