950 pro vs 850 evo

TitanXYZ
Go to solution Solved by Tedster,

I'd put the games on the 850 Evo, unless you had space on the 950 Pro.

So I currently have a 950 pro (m.2) and a 850 evo. Should I put just my OS on the 950 and my games on the 850 or will I notice a difference in putting the games on the 950?

I would just put your games on your 850 EVO

ive tried both and in most of the games theres no performance gain. (sure in games like gtav loading times are much faster) but id say its depending on the games youre playing. if its a game that youre loading once and youre done.. i wouldnt put that on the 950 pro, but games wheres a loading screen every few minutes, thats what i put on my 950pro

Put your games on 850 EVO. You wont even notice a big difference in loading times vs classic HDD in most games. There are huge exceptions like Arma 3 for example where it not only improve loading times but also performance but there is very few games like this.

And I know this because I got 500GB 850 EVO just for games.

I think that for loading times its really hard to notice a difference, even on RAMdrives it doesnt improve that much from a 850 EVO, its really waste of money for gaming a 950 PRO.

So should I have gone for a smaller m.2 and just put my os on it?

OS and some software that really benefit from it, gaming loading will not be improved with that, maybe just a little little bit, but nothing you would notice.
