HARDLINE TUBING WITH EK-XLC PREDATOR 240

Hey,I was looking for options to liquidcool my pc when I came across EK-XLC PREDATOR 240, so I was wondering whether the tubing can be replaced with hardline tubing and expanding the loop to cover the GPU block as well, since the unit has a pump built in, any help will be highly appreciated, Thanking you in advance.

No the tubing in AIO's cant be replaced. If you want to build a hardline loop you need to start from scratch.

Dude, its the EK Predator...its not a typical AIO...

You can expand the loop, changing the fittings, and tubings.

I know you can expand the loop. But if hes going to change the tubing. I dont see the point of it. Why take a unnesesary risk.

I get it.

You specifically said the tubing aren't replaceable...so I was merely correcting you

But what's the difference between creating your own loop, and taking apart an existing loop to replace tubing? Both are just as risky since both contains water inside a computer.

Defently is. But costs 239,95€  you can put the parts together youreself for 200.73 € if you take the cheapest res.

Again if you're not going to use the plug and play tubing i personally don't see the point.

Edit: + the waterblock and fittings its still going to be cheaper.

Because of people reporting leaks and ek confirms it.

Yes, the tubing can be changed to hard line tubing, you will need to replace the compression fittings that come with the unit with hard line fittings, but other then that, yes you can change anything and everything about the EKWB Predator 240 and 360 to what and how you desire.

EK-HD PETG Tube 10/12mm  is this compatible with the compression fittings??

No, you can not reuse the compression fittings taht come with the unit, you will have to replace them with hardline fittings if you want to use PETG tubing.

Yea...that was the Revision 1 recall.

But leaks can occur whenever there is liquid in a system.

Ok so then its all good. Also leaks dosen't occur in custom loops if you know what you are doing.

You can pretty much pick any brands hardline compression fittings, Primochill, Monsoon,EKWB, bitspower etc.... as long as the tubing and the compression fitting have the same inner and outer diameters, there are a ton of different styles and companies that make hardline fittings, so I will just link you to the EKWB ones, but I personally like Primochill and bitspower fittings over EKWB's fittings.

Note: EKWB are improving on the looks of their fittings, so they are on the right track of me maybe one day changing my mind on which fittings I prefer :)

Small correction: with hardline tubing and fittings only OD mater when matching them.

True, but not really a correction, but more of a statement. Some companies like EKWB only give the OD for a diameter for the fittings but companies like primochill give both the inner and outer diameter of the fittings.

Kind of like tomato, Tomoto, they both represent the same thing but are said in two different ways.

Well take a look at my build log which just so happens to have a hardlined 240 predator HERE

You'll just need 4 fittings and some petg or acrylic. I will note that It is a pain to get refilled with the stock res. took me a good while to get it filled. As far as expanding you could probably throw in a gpu block and another 240 rad with the stock Laing DDC.
